Chapter 1 - My Savior

{Rina's Pov}
I arrived back home to find the house quiet. I look around but found no one. "Where did everyone go? I thought as I went to Papa's room. but I also found it empty.
My father wasn't in his room and that is surprising because Papa never leaves his room. Ever since his cancer reached the third stage. He is always on his bed. The drugs aren't able to restrain the pangs of cancer from digging deeper into Papa's lungs.
The doctor advised us to try Chemotherapy but that costs a fortune and even if I sell my soul I still can't get the amount needed for that.
We have tried getting money from loan Sharks However, we already have enough debts to our names and no one was willing to lend us some money.
Every single organ in me has been used as leverage to get a loan. But life still isn't going easy on me at all. It keeps f*****g me so badly that I am starting to bleed.
"Surprised?
"I'll tell you why.
Life has f****d me too many times than I can remember.
"I am Katherina Hayes and I am life's favorite Hook up.
I am the only daughter of the Hayes family and I am also the mother in the Hayes family. My Mom died during childbirth while giving birth to Bright my youngest brother. I have two younger brothers who rely on me for everything and also a father who is bedridden thanks to Cancer.
I became a mother to Bright and Ben and a wife to my father as all the responsibility of the household came resting on my shoulders.
I am twenty-one years old but I bear the burden of fifty years old.
Well, not that I'm complaining.
I love it when I bring a smile to their faces. I can do anything for them even if it's jumping into a fire. As long as it brings Joy to them, I would gladly do it. That is how important they all are to me.
I went for a job interview earlier today and I was selected to be a receptionist at the renowned company WCC. I was rushing back home to inform everyone of the good news but I found no one home.
Which brings me back to my first question, "Where did everyone go?
As if on cue, My phone answered the question as it suddenly started ringing. I saw the ID was an unknown number, I answered the call and to my surprise instead of a stranger's voice, I heard Ben's voice.
"Ben, Whose phone are you using?
"Rina, that is not important right now." Came to the response from the phone and that got my attention.
"Ben is being serious? Then, something huge must have happened.
"Wondering how I could guess that?
Well, it's because The Ben I know is a joker. He is never serious, not even if the house is on fire.
Ben never stops Joking. So hearing him speak so seriously right now, I know something is not right.
"What happened Ben? I asked with dread in my heart.
"Rina, it's Papa."
"What...What happened to Papa? I asked now with a river already streaming down my eyes.
I hate seeing my father in pain because of Cancer and I wish there is something I can do for him. I wish there was a way I could get Money. Anything at all and I will gladly do it.
"Where are you, Ben?
"Outside the hospital."
"I'll be there right away," I said as I disconnected the call. I picked up my bag and dropped my phone in it as I rushed out.
I took a cab and I arrived at City Hospital in less than twenty minutes. I found Ben outside and he rushed to hug me. "Rina. Papa."
"It's okay," I said patting his back like a baby.
We rushed straight in and I went to Papa's doctor to find out about his condition.
"Miss Hayes, your father is dying."
"What?! Ben and I Exclaimed and the doctor nodded in response.
"You said, he could be saved," I said, trying hard to fight back my tears.
"I did, but you can't afford the operation and his condition is worsening. He's got very little time left.
"No! I shouted as I stood up with determination. "I will save him."
"Miss Hayes, this is no child's play, you haven't been able to pay for the hospital bills, how will you pay for such an expensive Operation?
"I will! I said as I got up to leave even though I know nowhere to go get such an amount. I know I just have to find a way.
I turned to Ben and nodded at him. "Stay with Papa, I will go get the money, I promise."
To the doctor, I folded my hands and pleaded. "I know you have done a lot for us but can I ask for one more favor?
"What is it, Miss Hayes?
"Please keep my father Alive till I bring back the money.
"I...
I didn't wait to hear what the doctor had to say as I immediately rushed out. "Where will I go?
"Where do I get half a million dollars to save my father?
I was driven by determination and I was moving without a destination. And when I finally looked up I found myself in the last place I would ever want to be.
"What? How did I get here? I asked my silly legs.
I was looking around wondering what I would do there and why my legs has chosen to bring me to a hotel, but with my clumsy self, I bumped into someone.
"I'm sorry." I apologized and the man just nodded as he walked past me, but his conversation came to my hearing and I could hear him talk about needing a woman or something.
"My Savior," I mumbled as I ran after him. But he was already in his car and he drove off.
