I turned around to see Simone standing behind me.
"Hi, Simone."
With my face wearing a big smile. I turned around to see him. I knew I owed him an apology because I promised to go with him but I didn't make it there. I'm sure he must be disappointed.
"How are you?"
"I'm good Simone. How are you?
"I'm fine. Thank you," I replied halfheartedly.
My heart was overwhelmed with guilt. I couldn't find the right word to express myself to Simone or explain to him why I couldn't attend the outing despite promising to be there.
"Why does the boss pick on you every time?
Simone asked the first question. Even though I couldn't start a conversation with him thanks to the guilt I have in my heart.
