"Don't you even trust me at all?"
I could see hurt in his eyes as he spoke. He was looking despondent.
I noticed that Ben was trying to take a lump of meat from the plate. I tapped his hand and I immediately returned my attention back to Carl.
"Oh my, Carl? I do trust you." I met him by the door before he could come to us.
"I don't think you do" He retorted.
"Why would you think I don't?"
"I have too many reasons to think you don't" He shook his head sadly.
"Oh God, Carl" I took his hand and made him look at me. "Please don't say that."
"You leave me no choice, Rina. I don't know what else to think."
"Please Carl, don't say that."
I couldn't stand to see him sad. His eyes had a melancholic expression as he walked past me.
"That smells good" He inhaled the food.
