The alpha of shadow

361 Words
The air thickened. Even in Kieran’s arms, Elias felt it—the shift in pressure, the weight of dominance rolling through the fortress. Heavy. Cold. A darkness that crawled beneath the skin. The rogue leader had arrived. Boots echoed against the stone floor, slow and deliberate. A tall figure stepped into the chamber, dark hair falling wild around sharp features. His eyes gleamed silver, unnatural, like twin moons reflecting madness. “Kieran of the Sunfang,” the rogue drawled, lips curling into a smile that didn’t reach his eyes. “And the little seer Beta. How touching.” Kieran shoved Elias behind him, every muscle coiled tight, golden eyes burning. His wolf pressed at the surface, barely contained. “You’ll regret laying a hand on him.” The rogue leader chuckled. “Regret? Boy, I orchestrated this.” His gaze flicked to Elias, lingering. “The vision binds you. The prophecy chains you. Don’t you see? He’s not your salvation—he’s your ruin.” Elias’s chest clenched. He’d heard those words before, whispered like poison. But this time, Kieran’s voice cut through them, sharp and unyielding. “He’s mine.” The rogue sneered, and then his wolf exploded outward—midnight fur, massive and scarred, eyes glowing silver. His dominance crashed into the chamber like a storm, enough to buckle lesser wolves to their knees. But Kieran didn’t bow. Golden light erupted from him, his wolf breaking free in a blaze of fury. The two titans collided, gold against black, teeth snapping, claws tearing stone from the walls. The chamber shook with every strike, dust raining from the ceiling. Elias staggered back, still weak but his wolf clawing inside him, desperate to help. He pressed a hand to the bond, pouring strength into it—into Kieran. You’re not alone. The connection flared, and Kieran roared, slamming the rogue leader into the wall so hard the stone cracked. Blood sprayed, but the black wolf only laughed, jaws snapping back with terrifying speed. Elias’s breath hitched. This wasn’t just a fight for dominance. This was destiny colliding—Alpha against Alpha, light against shadow. And only one would walk out alive.
