Chapter Thirty-four: Butterfly
Eloise was overwhelmed, and she didn't know what to think or say. How come a grandmother she never met before is willing to help her when her own parents abandoned her? How come someone with whom she hasn't spent a day in her life understands her better than the ones she grew up with?
"My parents have already abandoned me, so technically, I am not your granddaughter anymore," Eloise said after a while, looking away.
"They did what?" Louise exclaimed in shock and massaged her temple. "I thought it was the media's bait, and I actually hoped that they were only punishing you."
