Chapter Three

Selene POV

"Your mother is the Moon Goddess? Really?" I heard a voice say from behind me. I turned around to see an older spitting image of Lucian. "You must be Lucian's father." I said getting up and going to shake his hand but he just pulled me into a hug instead. "You do look just like her I can't believe I didn't see it before, you're stunning and a complete bad ass from what my son tells me." he said to me while holding me in a hug. He let me go and led me back towards the table and we all sat down together. "I am so happy to meet you too Alpha." I said looking up at him and smiling, I can't believe how much he looks like Lucian. "Please Selene just call me Damion, Or Alpha Gray if we are in a seriously formal setting." I nodded looking between Lucian and Damion, we had fallen into a slightly awkward silence, I know they want to know the story about my mother but I wasn't sure where to start. "As this book states, When my mother was young she learned she couldn't have children of her own. However, that fact isn't why she became the Moon Goddess and created all of the supernatural beings. When she first found out she couldn't have her own children she turned to the dark arts first. She asked the ruler of all evil to give her the one thing she always wanted, a daughter. One night the ruler of evil, A demon named Lazarth, came to her and took her by force, infecting her with his seed. For weeks she was inconsolable, she swore to never dabble in the dark arts again. Then she found out she was indeed pregnant, and she was faced with a choice, she could choose to give birth to whatever dark thing was growing her womb and try to raise it to be good or she could give up her the one thing she had always dreamed of. She decided to take a risk and she gave birth to me. When she learned I needed blood in order to survive, she fed me from her until I was old enough to understand that feeding on people was bad and so she started feeding animal blood. She learned I had her gifts as well and she taught me how to control them and taught me to use my gifts only for good. On my eighteenth birthday Lazarth came back. He wanted me to come with him and help him take over the world, he wiped out my entire village. My mom fought him as much as she could to try and protect me from him but when she got to tired. He had was too strong for her so she did the only thing she knew she could do, she begged. she offered herself to him promising to do whatever he wanted her to do, so long as she left me alone to live my life. He took her without another word and that was the last time I saw her. I decided that day I was going to train and become stronger so I would never have to worry about not being able to defend myself again. I didn't know she was the Moon Goddess though, I thought she was dead by now. That's how i learned as a vampire, I was stronger and faster than any regular humans. Then I found out that I could change humans into vampires, and so because I was lonely i started changing Vampires, They were never as strong as me or had ad many powers as me but they helped me feel like I had a community I belonged to. However, the people I changed kept changing other people and they were so arrogant I no longer felt like I was one of them, They turned bad, killing and feeding whenever they wanted and so after a while I went to solitude and decided not to change anymore vampires. That was until around fifty years ago when i met Lexi and she quickly became my best friend. Then one night she was almost killed and I got there with just enough time to change her, I gave her the choice and she choose life and now that we are here and she has Tristan we know why, everything had to happen the way it happened so we could be here today." I said the whole time looking down at the drawing of my mother. How could I have not known she was the Moon Goddess, i spent so long wondering what had happened to her and if I would ever see her again. I look up at Lucian and Damion, they both seemed in awe of my story, Lucian reached across and grabbed my hand, immediately a wave of calm washed over me and I smiled up at him.  "That is an incredible story Selene, it shows our Moon Goddess has always been strong and she clearly wants you to have that sense of community. You will hopefully find that here, We are a pack and you are our soon to be Luna, everyone here would lay down their lives for you just as you have shown you would for them. I believe you and my son will do incredible things for this pack."

"Its crazy to me that in the last 5,000 years i have only felt close to one person, Lexi, and then in just a few days I have found the love of my life, and entire community if people that I feel like I have known my entire life, I know this is where I am meant to be." I said getting up and going around the table and sitting in Lucian's lap. I was feeling a little drained, even though I hadn't been doing much today, I wasn't use to letting so much stuff of my chest so fast. My eyes started feeling heavy and I heard Lucian tell his dad he was going to take me upstairs so I could sleep. When we made it back upstairs I cuddled up with Lucian, "I am sorry I cut the conversation short, I'm not use to laying so much on the table at once I think I wore myself out." he stroked my hair and kissed my nose. "Get some sleep my love I will be here when you wake up." he whispered right as the darkness overtook me.
