Lori came back to tell her everything was ready and Darci had borrowed a player so she could play music when Mariam was ready.
Mariam smiled mistily. Darci had been a good friend to her from the moment they had met. She was going to miss her.
They heard the music start to play, and Lori and Mariam left her room and started for the front of the bookstore. When they entered the room, they found Alex and Trey standing talking to an elderly gentleman at the front of the store. Charles, Andrew, Kenny, and Darci were standing around listening.
