“So Mr grumpy, You're Adrian?” I asked, but the only reply I got was silence.
“I realized I didn't thank you the other day, since you didn't allow me to.”
“What was the reply again? Not to bother,” I continued; immediately, he snapped his head toward my direction, sensing my sarcasm.
Ah ah, I knew air quoting him would get a reaction out of him; I felt a thrill of inner joy, I continued.
“Anyway, Thank you, Mr grumpy, who would have thought you could be so kind?” Silence…….
Tch, rude; I think I'm getting used to his one-word replies or him not replying.
“I'm sorry about your suit, I really am” He still didn't reply.
“I promise if you give me a chance, I will be professional,” I said, hinting at our previous conversation.
“Bye,” I said and walked off because I knew he wouldn't reply.
I could feel his eyes on me as the car zoomed past me. I guess that's the only reaction I could get.
I guess he's not so bad after all, but he's definitely strange.
Why did he pretend not to have known me? If I hadn't seen Sam, I wouldn't have known he could be kind.
I take my words back, but he's grumpy, very grumpy, I haven't seen him smile, I thought to myself.
Feeling in a light mood, I plugged my earpiece to my ear continuing my journey home.

I heard my phone vibrate underneath my head. Rolling to the other side of my bed with closed eyes. I raised my pillow and grabbed my phone to check the message.
“Oh, it's an email,” I mumbled groggily as I squint my eyes to adjust to the light; I clicked on the message.

I screamed, squealed, and muffled my laughter into the pillow. I'm on the verge of tearing up, oh my God, I can't believe I'm gonna work at my dream company.
When I applied months ago, I didn't think I would get the job, especially not at the biggest firm in L.A. I never even thought I would get accepted with countless better candidates than I am.
“Oh, my days of joblessness are over!!”
“SCOTT. HOLDINGS, here I come!” I screamed spreading my hands wide open.
Oh my God, I still couldn't believe my eyes; I opened the email again to check if it was real, reading every word slowly, smiling so wide, I thought my face might break. Jeez, I'm gonna work in the biggest conglomerate in L.A; I couldn't contain my happiness right now.
“Oh, I haven't clicked ‘Accept’ yet.” I quickly tapped the button icon, and another email came in.
Thank you for accepting the position.
Your salary and other details will be discussed before you in person. You're to resume at 8 am on Monday.
Best Regards,
HR Department.
I rushed to my wardrobe to look for the perfect outfit I was gonna be wearing on Monday. After a few minutes of searching, I found a blouse and a straight skirt.
“This is beautiful,” I said, staring at my appearance in the mirror.
The outfit is moderately tight, embracing my curves at all sides.
“Good morning, sir,” I said with a smile, demonstrating how I'm gonna interact with my colleagues and boss. I'm so looking forward to Monday.
The weekend dragged on, stretching out longer than I’d hoped. It felt like Monday was a thousand years to come. I'm very excited and have been looking forward to this day, I couldn't wait to start.
On Monday morning, I got up early to prepare for my day. I put on the outfit I selected over the weekend. It's a blue long-sleeve top and a straight black skirt, that stopped above my knee. I opted to pack my hair in a ponytail, but I decided to leave it in its wavy form. I'm not a fan of makeup, so I did light makeup, I put on mascara and lip gloss. When I was done, I put on a red pump, carried my red bag, then I took in my appearance in the mirror one last time; I smothered out the invisible rumple on my skirt and walked out of my room.
I didn't wanna go through the stress of waiting for the bus this morning, so I flagged a cab.
“Good morning” I greeted the driver
“Morning ma'am” He replied
“SCOTT HOLDINGS,” I told him where I was heading to.
“First day at work?” He asked, noticing my excitement. I was surprised he could tell; with a laugh, I asked.
“What gave me away?”
“People tend to hate Monday, but you look excited, so I figured it's your first day at work.” He replied with a smile.
“Owh” was all I could manage to say, I didn't know it was obvious that I was very excited.
The rest of the journey was passed in silence; the driver pulled over, and I pulled out cash from my bag and paid him.
“Have a good day at work,” He said with a smile.
“Thank you,” I replied with a smile, opening the door and stepped out of the cab.
Beautiful is an understatement for this magnificent building in front of me. I stood there for a second admiring the beautiful exterior design of the company. It was painted in a black and white color, I could see at the top of the building SCOTT HOLDINGS. INC written boldly for recognition. I smiled and walked down to the entrance.
A minute later, I was allowed to enter; the inside was more beautiful than the outside, and the interior designs were out of the world. I glanced around, feeding my eye with the beautiful design. I walked further inside to the reception.
“Good morning,” I greeted the receptionist and took in her appearance. I noticed her flawless make-up blended well with her skin color, and her blonde hair was tied in a neat ponytail, bringing out the structure of her face.
