Last night was epic. I had a big booty shortie from last night laying ass naked in my arms, and was sleeping good. The banging on the door woke me up first thing in the morning after just a few hours of sleep. So I had to figure out a way to slide away from her. Inching my way from under her, she slowly rolled the opposite direction. I threw the sheet on her and went to the door.
“Man, what time is it?” I asked, opening the door thinking it was Bass.
“9:30” Devin says, walking in as soon as I open the door.
“What’s up, man? You good?” I ask.
“Nah. I need to see her. I just want to talk to her. Put some clothes on,” he says, pacing the floor.
“Who?” I asked. Grabbing my shorts off the floor.
“Your sister. My mate,” he says in a matter-of-fact tone. F---- I had to tell him.
“Oh. About that. I need to talk to you away from all the ears,” I said, gesturing with my head to Cindy or Sydney or whatever chick's name was. I look around for my shirt. He grabs it off the desk in the corner and throws it at me. “ Thanks man. Come on. I know where we can go.”
We walked to the coffee shop inside the pack a few blocks down from the cabin.
"I'll have a large black coffee. Do you want anything?" I asked him.
"Nah man I just want to know what the deal is. What is it you are putting off telling me?" he asked, irritated.
"I just needed coffee in my system. I'll tell you as we head to the pack house." He's right I am procrastinating. We walked towards the pack house and I took a deep breath.
“Man, I know I will have to wait until she’s at the right age. I only want to talk,” he says, anticipating what I'm trying to say.
“No, I don’t have a problem with you being with my sister, it’s just that it wasn’t Rebecca you saw last night. My sister’s wolf is grey like my mom’s. I do think I know who you’re talking about though. You just probably won’t want to be with her,” I explain.
“Her wolf was absolutely beautiful. She has to be a ranked wolf, so what do you mean?” he asked.
“That she-wolf is actually a hybrid rogue that just transferred into the school. Her name is Veronica Parker, and she’s part vampire,” I say, taking a big gulp of coffee.
“Are you sure?” he asked, grabbing my arm to stop me from walking.
“No, I didn’t see the wolf you’re talking about, but from what you described, it does sound like her wolf.” I say.
He sits there for a moment before saying, “There has to be a reason I’ve been mated to her. I think I still want to meet her. I know I'll f-ing will have to reject her. Axel is mad for me even saying that out loud, but my pack will need a strong Luna. Or maybe I can keep her on the side and just marry a more powerful she- wolf. You know how the alpha did at Camden. His mate is the kitchen omega. F---!” He looked so disappointed.
“Let me just get showered, and I can take you to meet her if she’s still at the school,” I say, hopefully easing his anger some.
“It’s a three-day weekend. You don’t think she is going to go spend some time with her family,” he asked.
“Nah, she doesn’t seem close to either side of her family.” I opened the door for histo walk in. As soon as I walked in my sister runs and hugs me.
“Roddy, you came for breakfast? You have to tell me all about the scavenger hunt last night. Was it eventful? Mom made me stay in all night. I couldn't even look out the window. I heard the alarms. Were we invaded by rogues?” she asks.
“No, nothing that serious happened. Someone just got lost and accidentally crossed the sensor during the scavenger hunt. Say hi to Alpha Devin. You remember him, right?” I asked her.
“Oh yes, sorry. Hello Alpha Devin, are you enjoying your stay here in our pack?” She asked him in a very polite and official tone like my parents have trained us to do.
“Yes Becca. Everything has been great so far,” he said, talking to her like she's the little kid that she is and without a reaction as he would if she was his mate.
“Hey Becca, could you take Alpha Devin to the brunch area set up outside? I need to take a shower and change real quick. I’ll meet you out there in a few,” I say.
“Sure. They have it set up so nicely. I think I’m going to get a chocolate chip pancake with whipped cream…” she begins talking as she walks away with Devin. He looks back and shakes his head, no. I guess to let me know she is not the one he is mated to.
I ran up to get showered and changed before heading through the woods and to the school campus.

It was such a beautiful morning. I woke up, got dressed, and went down for a nice breakfast before getting a bike to ride to work.
It didn’t look like breakfast was busy, but lunch and dinner was crazy busy. Jason sold out of the daily special again.
The café closed at 8pm, and we were just about done cleaning up and preparing for the next day.
“Ronnie, will you need a ride back today?” Nicole asked.
“No, I borrowed a bike, so I will have to return it. I enjoyed my ride here. This town really is so cute. I took the scenic route here,” I said.
“Oh, did you ride the trail through the park? I love that old bridge over the creek. It’s been so long since I’ve been over there,” she says.
“Yes. I was surprised there were so many people there running and working out. It the perfect area to train.” I said as I put away the silverware that I had just rolled in napkins.
“It’s a pretty safe city, but I wouldn’t suggest going that way at night. It’s not very well lit and the woods seem to be a hangout area for some,” Jason says, walking out of the kitchen.
“That’s good to know. I’ll stick to the main roads,” I said, organizing things in my bag. Jason sent me some of the food to take back to campus with me. His food is much better than what they serve us at school.
“Let me know when you get back or if you get lost,” Nicole says, and I hug her goodbye.
“Okay mom,” I said, joking. “I’ll be in for breakfast tomorrow since there’s no school. Thank you for letting me do a double,” I say, walking out the door.
On my ride back to campus I thought about the first time I got on a bike. I didn’t have anyone to teach me, but I saw how much fun the other kids were having with them. I just had to get on one and give it a try.
That is how I learned about my super fast healing. I waited until the kids were on break and only a few kids were left in the school to give it a try. I fell off so many times and was the laughingstock of the kids who were left in school, but was so determined. I flew over the handle bars and into the bushes so many times. I was so bruised and cut up.
I was so sore, but I got up early to get back at it until I got it without falling. I was doing so good riding with falling. I just didn’t know how to stop and ended up crashing into the curb and flipping over the handle bars. I broke my arm but as soon as it was set and cast I could feel the healing, and I was back up on the bike.
I kept telling them my arm was fine, but they didn’t want to remove the cast for a week. By the time they finally took the cast off and school resumed, I was just as good as the other kids who had been taught. I quickly learned not to expect anyone to catch me if I fall. I have to set my own safety net.
My next task is to learn how to drive, so I don't have to keep riding bikes or paying for rides. The kids here have such nice cars. I know I will never be able to afford to have something that nice. I know my mom won’t buy it. I’m almost able to afford driving school. I hope to be able to do it during winter break and by summer to be able to buy a car so it will be easier to get around.
I got back to campus and sent a text to Nicole letting her know I had made it. I get upstairs to my room and see a large box with a note on top of it at my door. Every so often, my mom sends me a care package with clothes and a gift card to buy whatever personal items I may need. I figured the note was probably telling me this was the last package for me to expect.
When I opened it I saw it was just another mean prank from one of the students. There's no way this could be for real.
The note said:
Dear Veronica,
I’m saddened I was not able to catch you while I was here. I’ll be leaving tomorrow morning but would really like to meet you. It seems that we are fated mates. Please give me a call when you get this 123-456-7890.
Sincerly,
Your mate Devin Jones.
