The Bernard Mansion—Night
Rain taps against the tall windows. A storm is brewing outside, but inside, the fire glows warm. Bookshelves line the walls, and the scent of old paper and leather lingers.
**Gerrard Bernard stands behind his massive oak desk, a drink in hand, practically buzzing with self-satisfaction. The door creaks open, and his daughter Claudia (mid-20s), elegant and sharp as a blade, steps inside.
Claudia entered the study uninterested.“You said it was urgent?”
Mr Bernard smiled widely. “It is. Come in, Claudia Sit.”
She eyes him, wary. His good moods usually mean someone else is about to suffer.
Claudia was still uninterested. “ If you bought another yacht, just name it after yourself and spare me the unveiling”.
Mr Bernard laughed at her. “No yachts. Something far more… meaningful”.
He gestures for her to sit. She does, carefully.
Mr Bernard smiled at his daughter and smirked at her before talking. “I met with Theophilus Dennis tonight. I really didn’t expect to meet him at the event today, and coincidentally we were at the same table,so I took my advantage. We came to an agreement”.
Claudia was skeptical. “ is it what I’m thinking?daddy?”.
Her father shrugged his shoulder. “ yes it Is. My beautiful daughter”
She blinks in unbelief.
Claudia was very surprised and felt like her dreams had come true. “ It was that easy for you?” She asked .
Her father nodded at her. “ I also didn’t expect it” he replied .
He continued. “ Guess it’s because I said you were classmates” he said .
She clasped her hands together. “ that’s nice daddy, I owe you a massage” she said.
Her father nodded his head in disagreement. “ No, you don’t. All you have to do is tell your mom about it all and then you go get better skincare and more expensive clothes because you’re about to become a richer lady”. He encouraged.
Claudia got very excited. “ on my way” she said rushing out of the study. She pauses. “You know…. I didn’t expect her boss to agree to my proposal when I called him and told him I’d like him to send her out of the country” she told her father full of smiles.
Her father raised his eyebrows. “He definitely knows your worth, princess.” He praised her.
The Savior I Needed
Emmanuel had managed to keep his identity hidden for almost 4 years. To anna, his girlfriend, he was just a regular guy—funny, kind, ambitious, but in no way would she have thought he was one of the heirs to one of the largest business empires in the country.
He liked it that way. He wanted it that way, he loved the way she treated him purely as she felt without an y special treatment because of his background .
Brianna loved him and not his bank account or family name . She wasn’t impressed by names or brands. She loved her job at the company where she worked as the strategy department director, loved poetry, and even decorate events anytime she gets a client .
She made him feel normal and there was no way he would dump her for Claudia.
He hopes she would love the surprise when he tells her about his family background and won’t be mad at him, he knew he couldn’t keep it for too long and also plans to make her decorate the place he’ll be proposing to her.
He wished everything was just a bad dream, he didn’t want Claudia ruining his plans.
Emmanuel felt like the whole thing had taken his brain, he thought about calling his elder brother but he didn’t want sarcasm before solution.
He took out his phone to call Jasmine, he needed a plan from a crazy girl.

The room is brighter this time. The sadness has simmered down into cold resolve. Anna sits at her desk, tapping a pen against her lip. She contacts an old friend who is an investigator and luckily she was also in Zanzibar.
She waited for the receiver. “Hello Cleo” she said into the phone.
The receiver paused for a minute. “Isn’t this Brianna castles?” She asked
Anna smiled. “You got it right b***h” she said.
Cleo screamed. “You remembered me today?” She asked.
Anna felt guilty. “Not like that, I was just scrolling through my google contacts so I got you” she replied telling her half the truth.
Cleo beamed with smiles. “Don’t worry I’m coming back home for Christmas” she said soothingly.
Anna replied. “I’m not in country X,I’m in Zanzibar right now”.
Cleo was surprised. “You didn’t come because of me right?”
Anna was also surprised. “You’re also in Zanzibar?”
Cleo nodded . “Yeah I am”
Anna was very happy about the information. “Where are you,so I’ll come find you tomorrow”
Cleo was also happy about it. “I’m in a hotel,it’s very popular for tourists. The name is Blue Pearl.”
Anna screamed . “What the f**k!,I’m also there,I’m in apartments 158” she announced happily.
Cleo was stunned. “No way, I just heard you scream,I’m in apartment 157”
Anna rushed out of her mini apartment and Cleo does the same and they collided at the doorsteps.
Cleo hugged her tightly. “I missed you so much, introvert.” She said.
Anna hugged her back. “I missed you too, crazy b***h” she replied
Anna broke the hug and dragged cleopatra into her room.
They talked and caught up with a lot of things till the topic shifted to her relationship crisis and she briefs her all about Jasmine had told her.
Cleo looked at her with pity and said. “I’ll help you for free, but not next time” she said jokingly.
Anna Laughed at her and nodded her head in approval. “I’ll also cook for you for free”
Cleo looked at her and pouted. “Ohh I missed your cooking”
Anna looked at her sweetly and answered. “If you do,then get to work and I’ll be your personal chef when we get back to country X”
Cleo took a deep breath and said. “I’ve missed you so much,my angelic bestie.”
