Joao Returns to Ringdom

2039 Words
The super suits of the paranormal heroes had really come through a long phase of transformation. Commencing from Maddie's retro removable suits to the nano tech inspired suits which could be put on and detached with the tap of a single disc. Ringdom's Undercover Vigilantes had created a new and improved super suit design for the duo of heroes. Cherry was initially scheduled to meet with her team of junior prospective Ringdom combatants the following morning; although that arrangement might change at any point in time, so she'd have to make a mark in this conquest to serve as a bottom line for her mentorship classes with the young heroes. "Here!" Lieutenant Sanders said, flinging a pair of discs with flashy colours to both heroes; one coloured blue, she handed to Catriona and the other coloured green she handed to the Captain of Ringdom. "Now put them on and go rescue Maddison!" she continued. The duo nodded and headed straight to an exit point. Sanders thought she might as well send Maddison a warning signal to indicate the approaching presence of danger. Alas, Maddie had taken off her communication device just to watch a show of Holey Molly in her spooky laboratory. The undercover agency was forced to invade her screen and sound her a heavy note of warning. Cherry and Troy jumped off the floating Ringdobase and straight down to the Earth's surface to intercept Joao's murder attempts. As they jumped out of the floating edifice, they both bashed their transformation discs firmly against their chests. The suits which were also products of adaptive nanotechnology, instantly swaddled the heroes in nanoseconds and in no time they were fully kitted for their conquest. "Woah! These look amazing!" Troy said, and indeed she spoke correctly. The super suits were intricately designed to match their personalities and they also had some excellent combat related attributes that could help them out on the battle field. "I know! Now let's get Maddie to safety!" The Captain jeered. Cherry had taken a significant leadership role between her and her friend Troy. Of the both of them, Cherry had more observable leadership skills that helped them accomplish a lot in all their conquests. Joao was walking in her supposed disguise so as to not let her identity be revealed to anyone until she was able to fulfill her objective. Cherry and Troy made yet another fabulous landing, banging the ground with a fist and a corresponding knee. Joao instantly became frightened; she hadn't seen or battled either of the paranormals that stood right in front of her since her conquest in Iowa. Her only worries were that Cherry and Troy's energy indexes might have significantly risen since the last time they battled. Although, she tried not to let her opposition sense her fear, else she'd make victory a rather more easy for the duo of heroes. "Where do you think you are going?" Cherry asked; ironically, already knowing where she was headed. "Wow! It's been a while heroes. What did you guys miss while I was away?" Joao began. She felt she could lower the heroes esteem with her derisive statements, but today wasn't to be her day. "...Oh I know! A good wardrobe!" she continued; obviously referring to their stylish custom hero outfits. Troy; whose suit was properly adapted to accommodate her robotic enhancements, opted to reply the Inversian indigene ahead of her partner. "If these suits are terrible, then I don't know what anyone's going to say about that piece of trash you're always putting on" Troy began. "Yeah! Don't you wear anything else apart from that potato sack?" Cherry said, also getting in on the act. She gave Troy a high five after making her statement. Joao began to feel humiliated and insulted. "You take that back! Both of you" said Joao. The usual tone of command in her vocals were lacking this time around. "What if we don't?" Troy said. The heroes lined up in attacking stances and Cherry once again warned about Joao's sneaky portals. "You two are going to rue this day! Mark my words" said the Inversian war goddess, who lined up her electrocuting whip as well as her properly brandished katana. "Oh we have marked your words; so we can remind you when we prove to you that they were empty!" Cherry responded. They were willing to make Joao pay for taking away two of their best buddies. Troy had been waiting for a really long while to try out the BFG 9000. Since she discovered the nuclear instigated World War g*n was amongst the list of potential weapons she had been looking for the perfect test subject, but now that Joao stood right in front of them, could look no further. Cherry was the one who came charging to get this battle underway. As she flew with high speed towards the Inversian, Joao classically opened up a portal to send the Captain straight to her inter dimensional dungeon. Troy looked dismayed and wondered why the Captain would flout her own instructions. Things looked really ominous and Joao was already putting on her sinister smile. To the surprise of pretty much everyone out on the war front, Cherry ghosted past the portal without getting swallowed in as she landed an unexpected sucker punch in Joao's tractable face. Joao found herself swept miles away from the point of impact. One could tell she wasn't expecting to be hit that hard. Troy immediately lined up her radioactive weapon and locked in a target on the spot where Joao had formed an immense cavity in the ground. She shot a huge sphere of nuclear venue that almost caught Cherry by mere millimeters; Joao jumped into another one of her vintage portals to escape the nuclear thunderbolt. "Hey! Watch it!" Cherry said looking in Troy's direction. "Cap! Look out!" Troy yelled as soon as she sighted Joao trying to launch a sneak attack from the opposite end of the portal. Cherry turned as quickly as possible and shot a verdant gulf of flames straight at Joao who back trodded once more. Joao was still wondering how Cherry wasn't captured in that portal earlier on - that was an issue she would be resolving back on her home planet. The Inversian wasn't done yet though, she reappeared through another portal for a more physical contest with Troy. Catriona immediately felt her energy and prevented Joao's attempted assault. Apart from being a diminutive war machine, Troy had improved in her mastery of the martial arts; and so hand to hand combat against Joao wasn't too much of an issue. Cherry got in on the act soon after, as she shot another dose of verdant darts to send Joao thumping yet again. Just before Joao fell to the ground, the most strange event of the evening occurred - Mason's Virgam popped out of nowhere and flew across to emit Mason's classical blue fire balls straight at Joao. It also smacked Joao in the face several times using it's orb end before supposedly returning to where it came from. The fact that Mason's doctrinal scepter; the Virgam, had a mind of its own had previously been established, but Cherry and Troy still looked dumbfounded at the site. Cherry and Troy then approached the cavity that Joao had formed on the ground and the Captain was determined to finish up the job. The intentions behind keeping Mason and Madonna hostage for such a long duration had yet to be uncovered. Joao had one last chance to explain herself after all her equipment for battle had failed her. "Joao! We're really marking your words now" Troy began as Cherry lit up her right hand with her verdant green flame sphere, ready to destroy Joao if she played any more games. Joao kept wailing in pain and she looked to beg for mercy while she still had the chance. "Joao! I don't want to hurt you..." Cherry began before Troy interjected her statement. "Uhhh...actually, we do, 'cos technically you're holding our best friends hostage so..." said Troy who was all smiles at the moment. "Alright! Yeah! That is kinda true...now tell me Joao, where are Mason and Madonna?! And don't even think of scheming on us, or your Inversian dynasty can say goodbye to their dumb princess" Cherry said. Joao found Cherry's comments rather offensive, but at the moment, she couldn't do anything to make her regret her statements. "I'll never tell!" said the Inversian royalty; even in all that pain she felt, she still found the courage to resist. Cherry blasted her green venomous thunderbolts straight at Joao's armour for close to half a minute. Joao screamed in pain! Cherry could have gone on and on; Joao's unnecessary reluctance had forced her into her super sane state. Troy was the one who pushed Cherry's arm away and forced her to stop. "Cap! Quit it! You could kill her!" Troy yelled. Cherry's super sane mode instantly switched off and while they exchanged words for a brief while, Joao spotted the slight lapse in focus. "Kill her? She can't die if she's a goddess like she claims" Cherry replied. The spat between them hindered them from realizing that Joao was plotting an escape route. The Inversian pulled a very tiny round object from her utility belt. She dropped it to the ground and it released a huge cloud of smoke that limited the heroes' view. Joao made her escape as she disappeared into thin air - supposedly jumping through a portal that took her straight back to her home land. Just before Joao jumped back to Inversia, she was stuck wondering if she had just opened her very last portal. Cherry blasted the hole where Joao laid a number of times hoping Joao wasn't far ahead, but she thought wrong. "Troy!!! You weanus! You let her get away!" said Cherry. "I let her get away? How's any of this my fault?" Troy responded. "If you had just let me finish up that sick chick, we wouldn't have let her get away!" "Tell me Cher. What exactly would we gain by killing Joao?" Troy asked, seeking to get a tangible response from Cherry. "Well we'd...I mean we'll...or maybe we could..." Cherry said searching for a good reason while she stammered, but she just couldn't find any. "Well she took our friends" Cherry continued. "True...but how would we be able to get our friends back if Joao was dead and buried?" Troy stated, making a very valid point. Cherry struggled to find words that could counteract Troy's statement, but she just couldn't. "Mason always told us to never mix emotions with a fight against a villain or any evil forces...think about that" Troy continued. "...and why are you so calm?" Cherry asked. She sensed a feeling of general comfort in Catriona; Cherry could really use that now. "Oh! I placed a tracker on Joao during the fight. The device should help the Ringdom Intel team in finding the exact inter galactic coordinates of Inversia" Troy explained, making a shocking revelation. "Wow! That's amazing Troy...how come nobody else ever thought of that?" said Cherry. "Beats me! Let's just hope Joao doesn't destroy it or even notice it" Troy responded. "We're all clear here Lieutenant Sandy!" Cherry said holding her communication device, to reach the Ringdom base. "It's Lieutenant Sanders! And that's great...Maddison is safe, so you guys did a really good job" Lieutenant Sanders responded. She then warned the heroes to get back to the Ringdobase before the cops arrived, but her warning came a bit too late. Cherry and Troy turned round to meet a large pack of approaching police officers. "We're not gonna harm them...are we?" said Troy. "Of course we're not...what's the matter with you?" Cherry unusually responded. Troy was about to heave a sigh of relief right before Cherry shot a big bash of green thunderbolts straight in the direction of the cops! A lot of their vehicles were damaged but no casualties were recorded at least. "...but you said..." Troy was about to begin, but Cherry was way ahead. "Come on let's get outta here!" said Cherry, as she burst out into the skies, headed for Ringdobase, while Troy wasn't far behind.
