Game On

Cherry and Troy hadn't had a decent meal in weeks. Never before had it felt like they were so close to death. The duo of heroes had done all they could up until this point and so they sat without resistance, patiently awaiting their fate. Captain Cherry had barely fallen unconscious when a sound of the door of their conscious when a sound of the door of their containment unit creaking open raised her eyelids once more. It appeared to be Officer Gregorz, accompanied by two fully armed body guards. 'Greg' walked boldly towards Cherry and Troy; who could barely lift their heads up. "What do you want man? You hijacked our mission, promised to kill us by atomic radiation, you have us strapped to titanium clad chairs! What more do you want?!" Cherry yelled. "You know...when the atomic cloud chambers are ready...I want to be the one to push that button and watch your skins get peeled off..." Greg said. "Well why man? What have we done to deserve this?" said Cherry who was only interrupted by Troy - "Yeah dude! I mean, you're the one who betrayed us...so if anything we're the ones supposed to be freaking out!" Officer Gregorz was more than just a black ops mercenary. He was the step brother of the devious Lord Naphtaloz, which meant that the same blood flowed in he and Cherry's veins. On obtaining news that Lord Naphtaloz had been killed following his attempted doomsday plot, he vowed to avenge his step brother's soul; even if it meant killing his half niece - Cherry. "...You killed my brother! All four of you..." Gregorz said. Cherry and Troy looked somewhat confused. They really couldn't make out what he meant. "Your brother? What the hell are you talking about?" Troy said. Cherry was already taken aback - she knew that he was referring to one of the devious criminal masterminds who they vanquished at the eschaton. She only refused to admit to herself that he was talking about her father - Lord Naphtaloz. "You murdered Lord Naphtaloz! You killed him! All four of you! Naphtaloz promised me that we would rule the goddamn planet together...but you idiots were bent on playing superheroes and now...I'm a black ops mercenary with no future!" Officer Gregorz said trying to hold back his tears. Although, they didn't come from the same loins, Lord Naphtaloz and Officer Gregorz got along really well even though the latter wasn't as powerful and paranormally able as the former. Officer Gregorz had no other family; his nuclear family was brutally murdered years ago while he was on a conquest in Vancouver. The death of Lord Naphtaloz hit him below the belt and he thought his life would be given meaning by doing the same to Cherry, Troy and the rest of their team of paranormals. "...but dude, if what you're saying is correct, then Cherry here is somehow related to you? So why would you possibly want to kill your sweet little niece?" Troy said, trying to knock some sense into Gregorz skull. "Alright...would you prefer I kill just you and leave your friend?" Gregorz asked. "Uhhh not really" said Troy. "Hey?!" Cherry yelled. Their thoughts wouldn't matter even the slightest bit. Officer Gregorz had made up his mind to execute his revenge and apparently nothing was going to make him do otherwise. Looming terror for the Seattlean Valiants. Maddison felt notifying the Ringdom Undercover Valiants was the right step to take. Her mind refused to be at rest, as thoughts of all the possible calamities that could have befallen her friends constantly circled through her mind. Perhaps Lieutenant Berge could send a team of sergeants to look for Cherry and Troy, because all things being equal, the heroes ought to have arrived at Warsaw a long while ago. "Lieutenant Berge...Lieutenant Berge, do you copy?" said Maddison. She was trying to reach the Lieutenant through the communication lines, but it appeared no one was answering. Things were starting to get a bit ominous. After many failed attempts to reach the Lieutenant, she left her laboratory and went upstairs to meet Max and Mrs Riecke. A cozy dinner of meatloaf and hotdogs had been served a long while ago. Mrs Riecke and Maximilian were nowhere to be found! The pair were kidn*pped and were being held hostage by Joao, but Maddison didn't realise it was Joao who held her family hostage until she saw a sticky note left beside the huge meatloaf. She read out it's content - "Maddison Riecke. If you want to see your family alive beyond tonight, you'll meet me at the Seattle Downtown Incinerator. You better not play any pranks this time..." a small carved letter 'J' on the edge of the note was enough to know who the author of the note was. Maddison had to act really fast. The lives of Max and her mother were on the line and it would take a great deal of both courage and patience for the duo to escape unscathed. The note specifically read 'No Pranks', and that directly meant no intervention from Ringdom Incorporated or any other uninvited force. Maddison went back to her laboratory and pushed a button on her wide and sophisticated control panel. The button opened a gateway to a chamber full of weapons. She could carry as many weapons as she wanted without getting them noticed;  not even by Joao. Finally Maddison took out a Heather Death board - a finely modified hover board that could get her to the Downtown Incinerator in mere seconds. Maddison wasn't too good as a crime fighter on the war front - she was a lot better at feeding Intel from behind a desk. Tonight, she would face the first test of her anti crime joust. A few miles away at the Seattle Downtown Incinerator base, Max and Mrs Riecke were tied heads down, hanging above a steaming bowl of lava. The Seattle Downtown Incinerator was a company created initially for proper waste disposal. Joao felt threatening Maddie with the lives of her mother and big brother would leave her with no choice but to reveal the location of the green amethyst to her. "What do you want from us young lady?" Mrs Riecke asked hoping to spark up a convo with the Inversian heroine. "Oh you'll find out...soon enough" said Joao. Joao continued swinging her electrical inducing whip back and forth, patiently waiting for the arrival of Maddison. Only a few minutes later, Maddison hovered down to ground level with the aid of her board following a spectacular landing sequence. She landed on a spot where she faced Joao and stood adjacent to the bowl of smoking lava above which her relatives hung face side down. "We meet again earthling" Joao said. Her personal battle against Maddison had escalated to a whole new level following their battle in Wisconsin. "You know this lady who's trying to kill us Maddison?" Mrs Riecke asked, while the heat from the lava slowly turned them into barbecue. "Yeah Mom. Just stay put alright? You're gonna be safe" Maddison reassured. It appeared she came with a plan that would ensure the safety of her family and also preserve the green amethyst's current location. "Don't be too sure of that...I assure you that if you try anything funny, I'll cut those ropes and in split seconds your mother and brother will be turned into Mexican fish sticks..." Joao reinstated. Maddison took a deep breath and perhaps a few more moments to go through how she wanted her plan to progress one more time. Any errors and she'd have lost her entire family in the space of less than a year. The Wisconsin born genius pulled out a thick disc and handed it to Joao. The disc had a huge red button on its center. Maddison reckoned that with the push of a button, the disc would display a neon tethered map that would lead her straight to the stone's pole position in Warsaw. "Alright you have what you wanted, now give me my family back" Maddie said 'hoping' she would keep to her side of the deal. In actual fact, Maddison wasn't gullible enough to think that Joao would actually release her family to her; she had a back up plan just in case Joao tried anything funny. "You really think I make decent deals with earthly mortals like you?" Joao said to create another unhealthy twist. "I don't understand. What are you saying?" said Maddison who was desperately trying to just play along. "After what you did to me a couple of earth days ago, I think I'm going to have to make you pay for your sins against me" Joao continued. In split seconds, Joao swung her katana straight at ropes that held Mrs Riecke and Max in the balance with the intention of letting them fall into the hot cavity of lava. Maddison who normally would have been expected to fret, flung her hover board straight at her relatives and in the snap of a finger, the hover board expanded into a large high tensile metal sphere which engulfed them and hovered away from the mouth of the fiery furnace. As it stood, Max and Mrs Riecke were safe - the hover board would transport them back to their apartment in Seattle. On watching Max and Mrs Riecke slip out of her hands, Joao lined up her katana and her electrocuting whip, ready to rip Maddison's head off for the atrocity she had just committed. Albeit, she kept the disc Maddie had handed her earlier in a safe compartment of her supposed utility belt to ensure she achieved at least one of her aims today. "You're going to pay for this, Maddison!" Joao said as she lined up in an attacking stance. "Sure. Do you take credit cards?" Maddison said almost immediately. The Ringdom Undercover Vigilantes were already on their way to assist Maddie in tackling the menace once more after she covertly contacted them. In this light, she spoke with an extraordinary level of confidence. "You do know you're no match for an immortal goddess like me" Joao said, priding in her abilities as an Inversian warlord. "Are you kidding me? Of course I know that..." Maddison replied while bringing out her plasma blasting rifles. Joao looked a little confused at her statements. "...That's why I won't be fighting you alone" Maddie said to finish up her statement. Suddenly, the loud noise of heavy machinery could be heard in the distance - the RUV were in touching distance now.
