Captain Cherry and Troy were beginning to feel a bit air sick. The trip to Warsaw to prevent potential chaos was one they had to take. Although later on, Troy made a good point by suggesting that the duo could have flown themselves to the Polish capital if Maddison had given them detailed coordinates. All was certainly going well until a strange attack from unlikely foes.
The press, as well as the government hadn't been clear in its demands for Cherry and Troy. For weeks, they set p********a by circulating headlines that would trigger the heroes into returning to the comfort of their homes, I'm order to make apprehending them a lot more seamless. Captain Cherry was abstract to spot the discrepancy in the press's claims. Rescuing Mason and Madonna as well as protecting the planet from an incumbent threat posed by the Inversian hierarchy remained a top most priority.
Still in mid air, the helicopter got a huge hit from behind. It felt like a g**g of enemies were in their pursuit once more. Cherry had a look and discovered that half a dozen helicopters containing armed soldiers were hot on their tails - more proof that returning home wasn't the safest idea for now. It seemed someone had given the law enforcement officers a huge tip on their location.
"Troy! There's a bunch of angry dudes flying right behind us" said Cherry.
"Really? What do they want?" Troy asked.
"I don't know? Maybe they want us to bake 'em some pie" Cherry sarcastically responded.
"Oh wow. That's terrible 'cause I don't exactly remember any recipe and..."
"Shut up! I need you to take some accurate hits on the blades of those helicopters...think you can handle it?"
"Sure thing Cap!" said Troy. Cherry then turned to the pilot to hand a set of instructions - their cooperation would definitely prove vital in escaping this trial unstayed.
"Officer Greg...I'm gonna need you and your co-pilot to turn this copter around!" said Cherry. The duo controlling the helicopter felt a little dumb founded, but the circumstances which they found themselves in would offer them little choice.
"I don't understand what you're asking me to do Cap" Greg said, with the breeze firmly dashing against his face.
"The truth is...I don't understand either...just do it" said Cherry. The Seattle born heroine got in on her super sane abilities and jumped off the helicopter. Moments later, the helicopter took a sharp U-turn, causing the wild chasers to do same.
Troy took time to think through her first weapon. After large consideration, she deemed a grenade launcher the best weapon for the occasion. Troy bent outside the entrance and had a look at the enemies firm on their tails. She set the grenade launcher's target at the blades of one of the helicopters engaging in the wild goose chase but Cherry picked even quicker pace as she simply held the blades and stopped them from rolling.
"Aww man!" Troy said as she watched Cherry take out one of the copters she had her sights set on. Cherry wasn't done yet - she punched the helicopter from the top and it came crashing down into a nearby water body. Those sour green punches were never ever going to get old!
It didn't take too long before Troy got in on the act. She quickly switched her targets and swung a proton grenade straight at another helicopter causing it to blow into meaningless proportions. The inhabitants of surrounding cities were being treated to a spectacular fireworks show.
Cherry was keen on showing how powerful and tough she was and so the pilots and all the other combatants on each helicopter wouldn't leave without a huge message. The Captain dragged a pair of the chasing helicopters by their landing shafts and swung them straight to the bottom of the sea.
"Disengage! I repeat disengage! The target is excessively repulsive" one of the co pilots said to raise a notice. Cherry and Troy were proving too hot to handle. The rest of the helicopters returned back to whence they came, as they deemed aborting the mission the safest of all their options. As a result of this development, Cherry returned back to the helicopter to continue their lengthy journey.
"Greg! Step up the pace, would you?" said Cherry.
"I'm flying as fast as this 'copter can go! Any faster and we won't even get past the Indian Ocean..." Gregorz jolted. The gasoline being used by the helicopter was going to last them the entire trip if they flew at a moderate velocity. The escapade that occurred a few moments ago was a major risk.
"...Besides start are you so tensed about? Didn't you just take out a bunch of CI combatants back there? In any case, we're the ones meant to be worried!" Gregorz continued.
"Whatever man just shut up and fly this damn thing" Cherry angrily spat. A narrow contest it was! Cherry was modest enough to concede that they narrowly escaped the attack. The setback was just a sign that they needed to watch their backs for any unprecedented attacks, up until the moment they were able to secure the green amethyst.
Only a few moments later, Cherry's mobile phone beeped - that clearly indicated a text message; any longer than that and it would be identified as a phone call. The head of the message read - CALL TO DUTY AT RINGDOM INCORPORATED. Troy spotted Cherry silently trying to go through the message's content and she suddenly got the idea that something was up.
"Any problem Cap?" said Troy with her eyes trying to get a pick of the message Cherry had just received. It seemed like an invitation to take on a top management role at a notable company.
"No! Nothing really...it's just...I got a text from...a boy!" said Cherry. The stammering and incoherence in her words had already given her secret away. Those cheap lies weren't going to fool a girl who was half human, half war machine, any day.
"A boy? Really? You do know that I know that your only boyfriend is Mase right?" said Troy.
"What?!" Cherry angrily responded. Troy was lucky to have gotten away with her leaky mouth pipes this time; it appeared Cherry didn't clearly hear what Troy had said.
"Never mind...who's offering you a job?" Troy asked.
"It doesn't matter; besides I'm not going to consider it anyway. I'm fully committed to our team. No matter what!" said Cherry. Troy turned and looked overhead - after consulting a few utility buttons on her control panel, she accessed the message on Cherry's phone with the aid of a floating hologram.
"Are you sure you aren't going to look into this offer? It says that you'll be one to lead a new wave of paranormal undercover crime fighting at some top secret incorporation called...Ringdom" Troy said.
"Troy?! Why would you do that? You know it's wrong to poke nose into people's privacy" said the Captain.
"...and it's even 'wronger' to lie to your friend" said Troy who was as furious about the raging tempest as Cherry was.
"I was going to tell you anyway...you didn't have to rub in the fact that you're part android..."
"Part android? So that's what I am now right?"
"Well technically you are but I didn't mean it that way. Besides I was gonna..."
"Good night Cherry!" said Troy before which she slid in behind the back row of the seats to supposedly retire for the night. This was certainly not the time for a rift between the duo, but a row between Cherry and Troy was becoming dangerously inevitable. All things working according to plan, Cherry and Troy would arrive in the Polish capital by Sunday evening - at about the same period as Mrs Riecke's return to Seattle with Max and Maddison.
Parity had barely been restored at the Cosgrove's Wisconsinian abode. The police arrived later on to gather some information about Joao's latest attack. Maddison; who was still visibly excited about her latest call up at the Ringdom Undercover Vigilantes, was the one who answered most of the questions asked by the cops.
While Mr and Mrs Cosgrove went to bed early, Mrs Riecke, Maximilian and Maddison were all in the living room watching the news on Mr Cosgrove's rusty old television set. They had all packed their things earlier in the day ahead of their pre-planned return to Seattle the following afternoon. There was nothing to actually cheer about on the news.
Following the sudden disappearance of Mason and Madonna, as well as the declaration of Cherry and Troy as fugitives, Seattle and other parts of America had become hotspots for hardened law breakers. The government were obviously ruing their hasty decisions concerning Cherry and Troy.
The latest crime to be announced on Sky News was Makhachkala's unexplainable escape from his highly secure prison cell in Seattle! Makhachkala had come a really long way from being a Sub Saharan African terrorist to awaiting a death trial while being held captive in a strange land. He would surely be doing his best to stay out of trouble and out of the cops' sight until he was able to find a way back to his homeland.
Makhachkala's escape however hadn't come as a huge surprise for American natives. Having gone through weeks of turbulence. The past few days had seen dozens of people get killed in g*n attacks, large amounts of money stolen in bank robberies and what not. The absence of the four paranormal guardians was greatly being felt.
The next few days would surely determine the fate of the entire planet. With Joao lurking around every corner seeking to force her will on whosoever stood in her way, time was definitely going to tell the turn of events. The blue moon would surely rise again.
