"You already know I knew," Ronan said. "You told me yourself. Three days after you started, sitting in that conference room, shaking so hard I thought you were going to be sick before you managed to say the word pregnant."
"I remember." My voice came out steadier than I felt.
"I'm not asking if you knew, Ronan. I know you knew. I'm asking what you did with it."
He didn't answer right away, and the pause told me more than I wanted it to.
"Nothing," he said finally. "I didn't do anything with it. I filed it away the same place I filed everything else that mattered to you, and I made sure the job offer still stood, and I made sure the nursery got built into the guest cottage plans, and I never once mentioned it to anyone who didn't already know."
