The Broken Omega

Chapter 5

Alyanna was forced to rest even more, although she wanted to walk and take a break from spending so much time in her bed. Just the thought of being fed and doing nothing does not sit well for her.

When she got the go signal from Rama, the old lady who is also the pack doctor, she did not waste any time. Alyanna decided to find her two friends, and she learned that they have their roles inside the Blue Moon Pack.

George is now studying medicine and laboratory, while Vanessa is working inside the packhouse as a server for the alpha. At first, she was worried. She can't help it. They experienced a horrible thing with their alpha before, and Alyanna is not certain if she can forgive and forget any sooner.

But when she saw that the pack members and the whole place look lovely, and the atmosphere is the far batter that they're an old pack, she felt a little bit relieved. She is wishing for the best yet.

She saw George walking with lots of books and items in her hand. He looks very happy, far from how they live in that place they left for the better. She wishes they made the decision sooner, but maybe regret comes after the results.

"George!" she shouted. George looks surprised, but she ran to her side after that little jolt he made.

"Aly? Why are you here outside? It is cold, and you are supposedly resting," he said, sounding so worried about her.

"I am fine now, I will die in boredom if I stay another hour in that place. Give me some break from that place," she explained while pouting.

"Okay, since you are bored, and I know you miss reading, right? Surprise! There is a library here in this pack, and they are hiring a librarian, are you interested though?" George asked her.

"You know the answer to that question! It is a yes for me!" As she heard that news, Alyanna finally saw the heavens door opening. She can't believe that her dream of being an assistant librarian will come true!

Well, the old librarian on the old pack is kind of nasty and very monstrous. Aly can only sneak every night to peek at some books she can read before, but knowing that this place has a paradise? It is a plus point for her.

"Let's go!" she said excitedly, rushing to walk faster and go to the library.

"Calm down, Aly! We are heading in the opposite direction!" George stopped her from being so rigged.

"My bad!" She said,

George sighed. "Do not overwork yourself. You are far from being recovered. Work but do not forget to take a rest, there is nothing but that."

"Yeah, thanks for worrying, but I think I am fully recovered now, Rama said it also."

Looks like the weather looks fine. There is sunlight, and the sun is waving in the sky, but it is still chilling outside, so they need to wear thick clothes to protect their body.

Aly feels a little unused to this kind of set-up. Pack members do not mind them, because they were used as a laughing stock and someone was disgusted by the pack members being the omega. If she just knew that a place like this, where they were being treated equally, she should change her mind and escape from that damn place.

Alyanna noticed that most of the houses in this territory look modernized. She knows modern houses since she is most likely reading random books. She feels like she is inside a human village, and she loves the vibes here. Pack members look happy, and there is no constant chaos happening. An optimistic environment helps her.

They reach a very huge building made from wood and concrete. They entered and were welcomed by numbers of books arranged from wooden shelves. Aly thought that she was dead from a moment, came inside the heaven's gate, and was brought back to life again.

For a book lover like her, there is no such thing as a perfect place like this ever before! But now, she rather builds a tent and camps here forever!

"This is a do-or-die situation! I will rather be dead than be rejected here." Aly thinks that this place can heal her broken soul.

She remembers his mate again. She is thinking so deeply if Alpha Leonard did not regret rejecting her. She wishes deep inside of her heart that the alpha will seek her forgiveness, and still think about second chances.

But that is just a fantasy inside of her imagination. If she wants that to happen, she needs to sacrifice her soul to a devil. Meaning, it is far from being true.

"Miss. Ashely, this is my friend and a book lover. I heard you are looking for a librarian, this friend of mine is obsessed with books!" Aly felt embarrassed at the way George introduced her to the young Miss.

But Ms. Ashley looks like a kind woman in her mid to late twenties. She is wearing thick eyeglasses, but she still looks pretty and a very gentle type of being.

"George, don't embarrass your friend. Hello, I am Ashley, the Librarian here. You see that I am pregnant, and I can't manage this place alone for now. I am looking for a part-timer but not everyone has the patience to take this job. Are you willing to take responsibility?" she asked her.

"Yes!" She almost sounds like shouting for real.

She was embarrassed at that time because of catching the attention of people reading in this library. "I am sorry."

"It's okay, just don't do that shouting again. They would not appreciate it. By the way, can you start today? George said you are still recovering." The librarian looks worried also about her.

She shook her head and gave Miss. Ashley a reassuring smile. "I am fine now, and yes I can work now." She can't hide the fact that she is very excited to read those books.

"Alright, alright. I will apologize in advance because I am in a hurry, I can't teach and give you clear instructions for now, but I will be back after an hour or two... My mate is waiting for me. All you have to do now is ask for their library card, look in the logbook, list down the books if they will borrow them..." Ashley said to her.

"Noted," she assured.

"And don't overwork, okay? If something bad happens to you, George might probably kill me in an instant," Ashley joked, making George flinch in displeasure.

"I will kill him first, he is my friend, but these books are another topic," she joked back.

"Ah, hello, guys? I am still here," George retorted back.

Ashley excused herself when a tall and handsome fellow came into the library. Aly thinks that this guy is Ashley's mate, and they look so sweet. She wishes she had the same fate, finding a lovely, kind, and man who will love him is a dream for her, but now it is impossible.

She shrugged that thought and decided to go to the Librarian's desk. She will start her dream job now. George seems to be watching her doing her job. She is arranging the papers on the desk, putting the pen on a container, and living the best way she can use her life.

"I hope you are not planning on staying here forever," George said to her.

She puffed. "What is wrong with that? You know-how I love this. Ever since we are living in hell territory, I dream about managing a library," she reasons out.

"Don't forget to have some fun," George reminded her.

"Reading is fun and way more entertaining than locking me up with a few cylinders and chemicals," she retorted back. George is too stunned to speak. He is guilty enough for being such a nerd.

"I am out of here," he said and waved goodbye.

Aly looks on hundreds of shelves with unimaginable numbers of books on them. She is planning to spend her time moving on the process by drowning herself in reading and reading, with a little bit of writing and working.

She can't hunt, fight, be smart enough, or be pretty enough like Vanessa. But she promises to herself that she can manage this library ever since she started to learn how to read and how to dream.

Aly is busy picking up her first book. She is looking at the romance section. She can finally have the freedom to read books in daylight without the need of hiding. She saw interesting synopsis and titles of books. She picked up a steamy thick novel on the upper corner of the shelf.

She is about to take it when someone appears on her side that almost makes her shout in fear. Thanks, Luna, and she managed to cover her mouth.

"Oh, I am sorry, did I surprise you?" The taller and more handsome guy with white hair and blue eyes asked her.

She can not believe that an ethereal beauty like this on men exists.

"I am just surprised, that's all." She planned on scolding this guy, but she does not want to upset this beautiful man. He can't even compare to the alpha Leonard in terms of being gorgeous.

"I am so sorry. They said that the new librarian came in this direction, do you know where she is?" he asks her while scratching the back of his head.

She is fighting on her mind not to stutter or make it to embarrass herself. "I am the new librarian, my name is Alyanna, Aly in short," she introduced. She thanked whoever she can thank because she stopped herself from stuttering.

"Oh, I know you, you are one of those 3 omega," the man said. Aly suddenly felt the humiliation. She felt that although this guy does not sound like she is offending her in any way. Her traumatic experience came back on her system again.

"Yeah," she said while facing the other side.

"Ah, h-hey, did I say something wrong?" The guy asked her. "I am Kevin by the way."

"You hate me, right? You do..." she said like a matter of fact.

"Why would I hate you?" he asked, a little bit surprised at her statement.

"Because I am an omega?" She said in a sigh.

"What is wrong with being one? That is cool! Oh, I remembered! You came from that stupid pack on west who hates omega right?" he guess.

"Yes, you are right. We escaped from that place."

"That place is different in this pack. We do not discriminate against omega, rather, we find them very rare and precious because of their capabilities," he blubber.

"What capabilities are you talking about?" she asked, suddenly feeling curious about what Kevin said to her.

"Oh, I see, you are still clueless about your potential. By the way, have you had your lunch?" Kevin asked her. She suddenly felt shy because her tummy creates that embarrassing sound.

"It seems like your stomach is protesting now. Do you mind if I will accompany you for our lunch?" he asked her.

"Sure."

Aly is hesitating since Kevin is a total stranger, and she can't get out of the library since she needs to look for people who will borrow books.

"Wait for me here, I will take food from the cafeteria," Kevin told her and ran as fast as he could. Aly thinks that guy is cool and weird at the same time.

Kevin surely can run so fast. He arrived so quickly and he is holding a basket full of food. She salivated since she could smell the fragrance of the meat, and there was also a sandwich and bottle of juice.

"This looks very appetizing."

They sat on the corner and prepared all the food on the mini table. They ate silently until she opened their topic left on the romance section.

"Can I ask about the thing you are saying about the potential of omega?" she started.

"Oh, yeah, let me start telling the story about why omegas are rare. Omega is rare and born randomly because they are the last descendants of our goddess, Luna. Omega acquired the purest divine power that makes their body, the vessel very weak. That is the reason behind omega having a frail body compared to beta or alpha. Now, because they can't use that divine moonlight power, there is a way to use it by using a channel to create a new class of werewolves called Dominant Alpha. If an omega and beta or alpha mated, their offspring will be a dominant alpha.

"Werewolves are far stronger than a normal alpha and have powerful abilities. Alpha became scared with this new race, that they wanted to get rid by the dominant alpha... But since they can't win against dominant alpha, they targeted omega like you."

That is a short minute of explanation, but it makes sense and enlightened her that very moment.

"So they hate us because of our gift?" she said while tears were flowing on her face.

"Because you are special, you and your friends are very special. There are only a few dominant alphas known that still exist in this world, and one of them is the current alpha of Blue Moon Pack. Our goal is to fight against the pack that hunts the omega and bring back the number of dominant alpha. Normal alpha on many packs begin to be greedy, and their lust for war and violations becomes ferocious."

She sighed, but they finished their meal after that. The only good thing she heard is she has a new purpose in her life. Right now, she can't find an alpha or a beta to love, because it is also uncertain. And another thing is, she can feel her connection with her mate. She will wait until their strings are cut and finally freed from their bound soul.

"Thanks for that information, that helps me a lot."

"Don't sweat it, I think Alpha Xavier is finding me, I have to go," Kevin excused.

"You are a pack warrior?" she asked out of curiosity.

He shook his head while giving him a wink. "I am the beta of the alpha."

Her jaw dropped. This day is full of embarrassment. She shrugged it off and started to do her work. She saw Ashley come back from her date, she guessed.

"I am so sorry if I am this late! We went to the clinic for my check-up. I forgot to bring you food here!" Ashley gave her food in a lunchbox.

"Thank you, but Kevin gave me one. He is a nice guy, and I did not expect that he is the alpha's beta," she said.

Ashley cackled and gave her a wink. "That boy loves surprising the newcomers... You bet even Vanessa and George were surprised to know that he is the second in charge, but do not fret! He is a nice guy... You just have to be used to being surprised, because he appeared suddenly out of nowhere, most of the time."

"I guess so, do you mind if I just go outside and ask my friend for something? I will also borrow this book if you do not mind at all..."

She can see Ashley looking at the few layers of books she is asking to borrow. "Sure, but let me make a library card for you."

She waited excitedly, and when her card was already done, she exited the library, and her next goal was to find George or Vanessa.

But coincidentally, she ran again to the beta of the pack, Kevin, who looks like a walking ball of sunshine with that kind of smile.

"Hey, I am looking for you," Kevin said to her. She asked him why. "Well, I will send you to your new home." She was not surprised about that. Rama gave her an idea of where she will stay after getting discharged from the packed clinic.

"Thank you," she said to the kind guy.

"Don't sweat it, here, follow me."

She is also impressed knowing that this guy is patiently touring her on the way to the wooden cabins. She saw a small house, enough with a small living room, a room, a bathroom, and a kitchen. This is more than enough for her.

Imagine Aly's life, all of her life she lives inside a tree, and she never had a proper shelter, this is a gift for her.

She wiped her tears, that is a tear of joy. She is blessed and grateful for such a blessing.

"Don't you like the cabin? It is impossible to build a proper house since we are in the middle of the winter, but when the spring comes, we will start to build you a bigger house," Kevin assured her.

But she shook her head and hugged him. "What are you talking about? This is more than enough, thank you!"

Kevin scratches the back of his head, giving him a light smile. "You are welcome, I thought you hated this small cabin."

"This is perfect!"

Kevin insisted on accompanying her to the trading place. Here in the Blue Moon pack, she found out that the members of the pack use the money to trade items. Money called moons was given based on the contribution here in the pack, so everything has a centralized system. There is no rich or poor. Aly loves that kind of idea.

They walk not too far until reaching the Trading Place. They came inside, it is dark from outside, and the wind is getting stronger again.

"We have to hurry, let us take what you need. We brought your needs home, but you need some hot choco, food and other things. So let's go?" Kevin said to her. She nodded, and they started to pick goods from shelves. She has no moons for now, but Kevin saves her again.

"I will pay you back after I get my first salary, I promise you that," she said to the young man. She can see that this guy is way taller than her, and not just handsome, but a very kind and generous type.

She thinks that it is because she is living in an alternate world. She was used to living in an ace where they were treated so badly, and now, here in Blue Moon Pack, they are an important part of society.
