Caridad’s POV
The training was going smoothly even after Chase got the best of me.
I didn’t get mad, I mean who could get mad being caught by those muscular arms?
Mmm, Okay Cari stop it, let’s not go there.
I’m watching the groups do hand-to-hand training. It’s going smoothly, even for Chase, he’s fitting right in. I wonder where the other new member is at unless I got it wrong and he’s not part of our pack.
I keep stealing glances at Chase, I just can’t help myself.
My wolf is in my head drooling over him. She’s been on a whole other level once she claimed our mate. She doesn’t seem phased that he hasn’t acknowledged her though.
I need to mellow her out. What better way to relax than to stretch. I could use a good stretch especially after being in that bed passed out as long as I was. As I begin to stretch I notice that some of the unmated wolves start stealing glances at me. It’s not the first time I’ve seen it happen, but it seems to be happening more often today. It gotta be the outfit. I do feel more confident in it. Wolves can pick up on the change in someone’s confidence levels. I’ll just sum it up to that being the reason.
Unfortunately, a pack member looks for a little too long. He gets caught starring by none other than my non-official mate. He’s going to hate me for pairing him up with him because Chase looks at him with a fury that says you’re going to die and the poor guy doesn’t even notice that Chase is pissed off. Chase runs and tackles the guy to the ground with a loud threatening growl.
To say I’m shocked is an understatement. We all stand there confused while looking at him. What the actual flying f**k was that?
The guy looked up at Chase, shows submission, and apologizes to him.
The submission part I get because Chase will be my Beta, but why apologize to him for looking at me? Did he figure out that Chase is my mate?
Chase stood up and nods at him. Chase looks confused as f**k at how he acted. It seems as if he had no idea why he reacted that way.
At that moment my Godfather comes outside: “Chase a word please, excuse me Cari but I need to speak with Chase.”
“Okay compai (nickname for compadre/godfather) no problem. See you later Chase.”
Chase looks at me and gives me a slight smile: “Yeah, see ya, Cari.”
Then they walked away. I need to talk to him to see what all that was about.
I feel so emotionally and physically drained. “Okay guys, let’s call it a day. Luminara we need to catch up ASAP.”
Luminara is one of my closest friends and so is Ryan, we’re like the three musketeers, only cooler.
