Devil's Three-way

Chapter 5

I woke up in bed, with Kyle beside me. I blinked stretching my toes and rolled over. Instantly I snuggle closer, I felt the blankets shift against my bare skin. Ah f**k, I’m naked! Immediately my heart begins to pound. Feeling a shift beside me and an arm come around me, my heart slowed. I could hear the pitter-pat beneath my chest, but I focused more on the breathing beside me. I let my eyes flutter shut once again, until I felt lips on my forehead.

“My beautiful mate.” Kyle purred softly into my hair. I shifted against him slightly, hoping he’d figure out I was awake. “You certainly had an eventful day.”

Everything from the day crashed through my brain like Frankenstein. My head hurt, from the knowledge, the vision, and probably my shift too. I felt a tear slide down the side of my face, “She ran away from me, she was scared of me.” The only words I could make myself say and then all the tears fell. I felt Kyle’s strong muscular arms fold around me protectively, “Shh.. I’m here baby…” I felt his hands smooth my hair and his lips kiss my cheek softly. “I’m so sorry I wasn’t there.” He continued to whisper gently. “Baby, your mom ran not because she doesn’t love you. When you first shift, your wolf is unpredictable until you learn to control it. If she would have stayed, you could have really hurt her. Probably even killed her. That’s why she ran from you. She loves you and she isn’t afraid of you.” He kissed my cheeks softly taking my tears away. “I bet you didn’t know what was happening, I’m so sorry I wasn’t there.”

“She found you.” I stated firmly. “I couldn’t control myself; my body had a mind of its own.”

“I’m your mate. Even though we aren’t bonded, she knew. I could feel a change the moment you shifted. I just didn’t know what was happening.” His voice was still soft, smoother than silk.

“But you knew I was going to change? And you left me alone?” I almost wailed at him tears filling my eyes again.

“No baby. No. Wolves don’t shift until the first full moon. Its why I had to leave you today, I was planning to be with you through it all. It just happened early and unexpected.” He paused and pulled back to look into my eyes, “But you just couldn’t wait.”

“Everything happened so fast. I don’t even know how I found you. I was completely lost until I made it through the woods and saw your neighbor’s houses.” Admitting that wasn’t easy considering I spent a lot of my childhood here.

He smiled wide, “Your wolf will always be able to find me. Just like I will always be able to find you.” He snuggled my neck. “Your wolf is beautiful.”

Oh my god it never dawned on me to look in a mirror or down at my paws to see what color I was. I guess all the excitement was just so much! “What color am I?”

Chuckling softly, Kyle moved to lay on his back and cradled me against him. “She’s gray, almost silver when the light touches her fur. Your eyes are outlined in black but swirl the most beautiful green and gold when you are in form. Your sleek and so so soft!” I can hear the smile in his voice. “You have one white claw on your front left paw.” He let his fingers dance lightly on my bare back where the cover had fallen in our position transition. I felt tiny sparks every time they touched, sending goosebumps through-out my body.

“Mm..” I murmured enjoying his touch.

“How are you feeling now?” He brushed the hair behind one of my ears.

“Tired, but better I think.” I said softly.

He smiled, “I talked mom out of dinner tonight, if you want, we can spend the rest of the evening together.”

“What about my mom?” It still hurt that she ran from me. Especially after dropping the magic is real bomb!

Kyle leaned forward and placed his lips against my forehead, “I already called and talked to her. Right after you fell asleep. She knows your hurting and upset but she would never reject you baby. She isn’t expecting you to come home if you don’t want too but you do need to call her.” He let me go and got out of bed, walking across the room he grabbed his phone from the dresser. I noticed his boxer briefs were camo green and grinned. It made me think to what I saw when I was in wolf form. Even though I was upset, I totally saw it! Kyle noticed my grin, “It is for my lady..” he jests in his best mysterious voice. Coming back to the bed, he doesn’t slide under, what I figure out is two different covers but sits facing me instead.

I sit up trying to hold my blankets together, I’m sure I looked embarrassed, devastated, or just completely broken. Still Kyle’s eyes shined brightly with affection. “It’s after school.” It was a statement out of nowhere. “Meaning you can open my gift now.”

My jaw dropped, I didn’t have it with me! “Wh.. when I wolfed out, I left it at the house.” He leaned forward pressing his lips to mine, “Your mom dropped it off while you were sleeping.”

I swatted him lightly, “Such an asshat!”

He set the gift down in my lap. I leaned forward so I could be more comfortable, readjusting the blankets under my arms. Kyle grinned, winked and slid back off the bed. Reaching into his closet, he brought me back one of his shirts. “I covered you while you were still wolf. Not that you weren’t tempting.” His voice sounded gruff and made me bite my bottom lip. I slid the shirt over my arms, head, and under the covers. At least my arms would be free to function now!

Smiling Kyle sat back down on the bed, “Want to open your gift before you call your Mum Monster?”

Grinning from ear to ear I took his gift in my hands, I fiddled with the pretty orange ribbon once more. I heard Kyle huff and decided it was time to finally open it. Pulling on the ribbon the knot came loose. I lifted the box top and saw orange tissue paper. Taking one corner of the paper I paused to look at Kyle. “This is it, for the win!” and giggled almost immediately. He pressed his lips together trying not to smile, this was a serious moment afterall. Looking back down at the bottom half of the gift box, I peeled the paper back. My breath caught at the sight of the most hideous necklace I had ever seen! It was a simple woven black chain embedded with orange gems.

Finally, I gulped in air like I had already taken my dying breath hours ago. I bit my lip hard and attempted a smile. Considering Kyle busted out laughing, I wasn’t doing a very good job of hiding my… surprise! Still laughing he climbed across the bed taking my left hand in both of his. As he stopped snickering, his lips met mine and gently nudged me to lay back. Following his lead, I scooted down in bed. Half-way back I felt his hands leave mine and go on each side of me. Slowly he pivots his body to lay to my right, on his elbow. He pulls my face to his and glides his fingers down my arm back to my hand. His lips leave mine as he pulls back enough to kiss my left palm gently. A glint of light catches my eyes and I’m stunned. On my finger sits a white gold woven band, its polished and twinkles in the light coming through the window.

Blinking tears back of how beautiful such a small thing could be, “It’s amazing!”

“So are you.” Kyle growls softly and slides the hair back from my neck. He softly kisses me letting his lips linger at the curve. A whisper of a moan escapes my throat, making me giggle.

I hadn’t really thought about s*x much in my life, but when I did. I thought of Kyle! And right now, that is exactly where my mind was! I wrapped my arms around his shoulders and strained against the blankets to climb on top of him. Denied. Growling in frustration, I tugged the blankets from under Kyle, flipping him onto the floor! We are strong, stupid! Be careful with my mate! My head roared. My mouth dropped the instant it happened, “Oh my god, I’m so sorry!” I scurried off the bed, sitting on his legs, I grabbed his face.

He just stared at me a smile plastered on his face. I couldn’t see any annoyance though, that was a good sign! I looked down, I had no idea what he was grinning about, then it dawned on me… I am NAKED under this shirt! I jumped slightly, trying to get up! So embarrassing! My wolf cried in my head. I felt Kyle’s hands move to my hips, he stopped me from squirming. I was really failing to get up on accident!

Growling seductively, “Kitten stop moving.” There was a strain in his voice as his eyes rolled back slightly. I immediately placed my hands on his chest to steady myself. “Not helping.” He growled again. Grumbling he pulled my lips down to his, kissing me forcefully. Shifting quickly, he flipped me onto my back and my legs wound around his hips instinctively. “Someone is coming, and you are making this very… hard.” He nips my bottom lip and I whimper softly as I gaze into his eyes blue swirling eyes. “Goddess your beautiful.” He kisses me roughly, but I want him to. My hands stretch across his back pulling him closer to me. I’m breathing heavy, so is he. I feel hazy and tingle everywhere in my body, there’s dampness forming between my legs and I can’t help but pull him tighter.

“Door.” He says pulling away from me growling. “It better be good!” He practically yells letting his hand flow from my hip to the tops of my feet. My eyes narrow and without thought as he turns, I grab his ankle. I hear myself growl, “Mine.” I can see Kyle’s eyes flicker orange and narrow on mine, he dives back on top of me, capturing my lips in a growl. He’s planted himself between my legs and I can feel the material of his boxers against me. My hips move without thought and I moan against his lips. My hands are roaming his back, scratching trying to get him closer! I want him, I need him closer!

There is a knock from the door, and I growl but my body refuses to let him go. Another knock, with a grunt I push him from me and stand up. I stalk over to the door; I can smell something feminine permeating through the door. Grabbing the doorknob I fling it open and cast a death glare at the girl standing in the threshold. Mid-growl I feel an arm reach around me. Kyle pivots me on his hip and slams the door shut. “Go wait in my office.” It was a command but not directed at me.

I can feel chuckles coming from Kyle as he keeps me pressed against him. “Slow down there, kitten.” He flips me around against the door. His hands locked in mine above my head. “I have something to take care of. Can you stay in my room, love?”

Pressing my lips together, finally able to control myself. I catch my breath and nod. My eyes are still locked on his, but I can see them swimming between blue and orange. “You have such beautiful eyes.” 

He softly kisses my lips one more time, “I’ll be back with clothes, we can’t stay here much longer…” Leaving me confused again, he stepped out of the room.

Didn't he ask me if I wanted to stay here with him? Hadn't that been an option when I first woke up? I sat on the bed questioning everything he'd said earlier. Maybe I did something wrong. I did almost attack the girl who knocked on his door. Maybe that's why we needed to leave. 

My wolf's voice came to me. She shouldn't have been at our mate's door! Obviously I wasn't the only one over reacting to this. Mika, had her thoughts to. And boy were they something!
