Alpha Rue’s POV
Great. I bit my bottom lip as I stared at her in admiration. She had quit her job, I am impressed.
“That’s sudden? Why did you do that?” I asked as I placed my hand on the table and I leaned in.
She licked her red lips, as she looked around, as if her gaze could be everywhere, but not on me. “It’s nothing. Just a stupid irrational decision I made. It was totally uncalled for.”
I smiled. “Irrational and uncalled for?” I asked. I knew she was not being totally truthful. I knew all that happened in her workplace today. I had sent someone to go keep an eye on her. I didn’t see a need.
But, it was not personal. It was a protocol. Since she knew about our cause, we needed to watch her every move. I knew Lilith would not betray us but Beta Frakas would not allow me to count
