Chapter 6It was down to the wire, and I left a gracious packmate, Adaira, in charge of the final touches as I jumped back in my truck to go get Colby. Full of anticipation, I wanted to shift and run to him, but then he wouldn’t have been able to come back with me. So I reined it in and headed to the Wolf’s Paw Inn.
Colby was waiting on the porch, which made me grin, showing all teeth. Fortunately, Colby was too far away for him to fully see, so he couldn’t get scared. I wasn’t sure if he would, but I’d rather err on the side of caution. He squinted as I drove in, and I saw the moment he realized it was me, because his face lit up.
