Chapter 2

1583 Words
It's time, son. The Queens are here. Are you ready?" "Son?" Victor's voice broke, thick with desperation. Damon froze. His stomach clenched so hard he thought about what his father had just said. Chased out of the village? Those words alone were enough to make his blood run cold. He had never seen it happen, but the stories were enough to haunt his dreams. Victor looked at his son who was still lost in his thoughts and without another word, he grabbed Damon's hand tightly and pulled him out of their house. Damon stumbled barefoot, his toes sinking into cold mud, the chill biting his skin. "Father, at least allow me to put on my shoes," Damon said. He tried to free himself from his father's tight grip but to no avail. Victor didn't slow. He dragged Damon between rows of villagers toward the bonfire blazing in the village's center. The music died abruptly, swallowed by silence as the villagers turned their heads to look at the father and son. Damon's heart pounded against her ribs. The air was icy, sharp in his lungs, but sweat still clung to his palms. "Father, stop. our people are watching, and you are embarrassing me." He protested." I can walk on my own." "And give you a chance to escape and risk your life?" Victor asked angrily. And with that he shoved Damon into line beside the other young men. They all wore a piece of white clothes around their waists just like him. They all had excitement written all over their faces. Victor patted his son's shoulder one last time and whispered to him." Make the queens happy, son. Submit your body to them, and give the queens an unforgettable week. Damon looked at his father confused. Make them happy. How? How could he ever please those insatiable monsters who already owned everything? "Father, they are the Lycan queens. They could have any man they wanted. How am I supposed to give them something they don't already have? I'm not-" his voice cracked, shame clawing up his throat, "I'm not even experienced. I'm still a virgin! I haven't even kissed a girl, then how am I supposed to satisfy them in bed?" A strangled laugh burst from Victor, his son was truly naive." You can do it, Damon," he whispered."You will know what to do when the time comes. And I have taught you a few things about pleasing a woman's body. Put them to practice and you will be fine." Damon's chest tightened painfully as his father gave him a hug. "I love you, son. And make me proud. "I love you too, dad," Damon whispered back, though his voice shook as his father left him to take his seat at the center square. Damon's breath hitched as he looked around the villagers, he was searching for Aurora but she was nowhere to be seen. He breathed a sigh of relief, he wouldn't want her to see him like that. She was already hurt and heartbroken when she heard the news of him being among the sacrifices. This wasn't just a night of ritual. This was the night he was to be claimed, body and soul by the three Lycan queens who would tear away what little innocence he had left. "Damon!" A female voice called from the crowd. He quickly spun around to see who it was. "Mother!" He said gently. What is she doing here? His mother has been sick for a while now, and he and his father had hidden the news about him being one of the sacrifices from her. Her lips trembled. "Damon," she whispered. A shadow fell over his face as he saw the person standing beside his mother."Aurora? Why had she come?" Her eyes were glistening with tears and he wanted nothing more than to run to her and wipe those tears away from her beautiful face. His mother's frail hands cupped his face. "I'm sorry, Damon," she whispered, tears spilling down her cheeks. "If I had been stronger..." Damon quickly shook his head. "Don't do this, Mother." "I should have protected you against this barbaric tradition, but there was nothing I can do." She said, tears slipping down her cheeks. Just then, the Lycan queens stepped out of their separate trucks with Lycan warriors behind them. The warriors were larger and bulky than an average human male. No wonder the vampires and werewolves feared the Lycans. Damon thought. The villagers including his father went on their knees. "All hail the Lycans Queens!" The villagers screamed in unison. The Lycan queens ignored their greeting and started walking towards the young men that were lined up with their heads bowed except Damon whose eyes were roaming around the crowd. "Are you searching for someone?" A female voice asked." Damon was startled at the voice, he looked up to see a very beautiful woman in a black gown standing before him. Her green eyes pierced straight through him. Queen Dorothy. Her presence alone made the air heavier, harder to breathe. Tattoos sprawled across her arms, she radiated danger, raw and untamed, her snarl reverberating through his bones. Damon's instinct screamed at him to step back. But he held his ground, trembling but unyielding, he would not cower to them. "Are we interrupting something?" Queen Dorothy asked." Her voice was low and gentle, but it carries a hint of danger. Damon's eyes darted to Aurora, his mother and father in the crowd. Aurora's tearful gaze locked with his. While his father's sharp nod was an unspoken order. Do not falter. Do not shame us. Damon swallowed hard trying to steady his voice "No your highness." "Are your knees broken? Why are you still standing before the Lycan queens?" Queen Dorothy's words came like a threat, though they were not. Damon quickly dropped to his knees. "Sorry," he whispered but the curse slipped out. "Shit." Gasps erupted from the villagers. But a sharp laugh broke through the tension. Loretta, The second queen, strolled forward lean, her blond hair tied back into a bun, a long braid tipped with a bead falling down her back. "I want that one, he will ride with me," Loretta said, amusement glinting in her voice. Damon's stomach dropped as Dorothy's gaze locked onto his again, she didn't need words, she was practically stripping him naked with her eyes. He trembled under the weight of her inspection, heat crawling over his skin. "Stand," she commanded. And the line straightened instantly. She stepped closer, she was so close to him that her chest brushed against his torso. Her breath ghosted over his lips.. "Why were you late?" Dorothy asked, her tone was deceptively calm, but each word dripped with unspoken threat. Damon's mind scrambled, clawing for anything to say. "I-I was dressing up, Your highness. Dorothy's lips curved into a smirk, and the faint smell of her perfume filled the truck, her hand moved suddenly, sliding inside the loincloth around Damon's waist. Damon's breath hitched, his body burning where Dorothy's fingers brushed close to his c**k. His knees nearly buckled. Suddenly Dorothy withdrew her hand. "The truck now," Dorothy barked. Damon's chest tightened, dread slamming into his ribs." What just happened? Why did his body react that way to Queen Dorothy's touch? He glanced towards Aurora as guilt flashed through his eyes while his father's grin shone with pride. Damon's heart broke at the sight of Aurora, he wanted to run to her and give her a hug, but he couldn't. Not yet. Another figure stepped forward. Queen Zita, the Southern Lycan Queen, her red hair flowing freely down her waist, her toned body radiating confidence. Her smirk was friendlier than the others, but no less dangerous. She leaned down, her lips brushing Damon's ear." Are you ready for us? Handsome." Damon shivered, his breath catching in his throat. Then his nightmare deepened. Queen Zita pointed at four more men." The four of you will join him in the truck too." She said. "Y-your highness, we respectfully decline to sit in the same truck with him." Lukas, one of the young men, said, bowing his head as he spoke. Damon's stomach sank. Of course. Queen Dorothy stopped walking and turned to Lukas frowning. She stared daggers at Lukas, who has started trembling as he continued talking. "Your highness, It would be improper to share the same car with Damon, he's cursed. He was born on the night of a lone star, and I and the others would never risk misfortune on such a sacred day." Damon frowned, he was already used to the villagers saying he was cursed, but the words still stung, but worse was the way all three Lycan queens turned their attention to him again. "You were born on the night of the lone star?" Queen Loretta asked. Damon forced himself to nod. His chest felt tight, but he kept his chin lifted. The Lycan queens exchanged a look. Loretta's smile vanished. Dorothy's eyes swirled with unnatural green and white before returning to their sharp clarity. Even the warriors exchanged nervous glances. "This one needs extra care," Queen Dorothy. Queen Zita's voice cut through with an authority that shook everyone." She grabbed Lukas's face tightly." The next time you defy me or any of the queens, I will have your tongue pulled out!" She said loudly for everyone to hear. Lukas quickly dropped to his knees to his knees,"I....i..I'm sorry, your highness, please spare me." Lukas pleaded.
