The Alpha’s Chosen Mate

Chapter 1

As I lay peacefully in bed, my alarm goes off indicating it’s time for me to get up for training. I roll over and turn my alarm off groaning as I just want to sleep.

My door flies open and Anthony comes running in about to jump on top of me.

“NO! Anthony get o-“

Before I could finish Anthony jumped right on my rib cage. I tried to push him off me while holding my ribs at the same time.

“Time to get up for training sis!”

Anthony blurts as he’s laughing while jumping off the bed.

“My alarm just went off Anth, we still have a whole hour before we have to be there anyway. So if you wouldn’t mind, I need to shower and get dressed.”

“Gotta always look good for Jeremy, huh?”

Anthony laughs as he walks away.

Ugh, I swear I could kill him sometimes.

I force myself out of bed, and make my way to my bedroom for a nice hot shower.

Anthony is kinda right, I’ve had a crush on Jeremy since before he became Alpha. I’m only 17 so I still have a little bit before I find my mate, but I sure hope it’s Jeremy. He’s just so perfect.

I hop in the shower soaking in how good the hot water feels on my skin. Knowing I don’t have a lot of time, I wash my hair and body as fast as I can.

When I finish, I hop out and throw a black sports bra on with a matching black pair of shorts.

I rush down stairs and see mom had already made breakfast and set it on the table for me. I scarf it down and head to get my tennis shoes on.

“Thanks mom!” I yell as I run out the door and to the training building.

The training building isn’t too far from my house and I enjoy the walk there.

Just as I walk in, Jeremy is standing right there just being so perfect. I felt myself staring so I had to look away.

Just as I was though, my eyes met his and those butterflies danced around in my stomach. I tore my eyes away before he could approach me and ran to my training partner and my best friend ShyAnn.

“I saw the way he looked at you, ya know.”

“Shy, I love you but you know that would never happen. Plus he has a girlfriend. I’m just pointing out the obvious, plus who has heard of an Alpha being with a beta?” I state.

“Girl, please. You don’t even know where your biological roots come from. Your bloodline could literally be anything.” She says swinging at me.

As I duck her punch, I think about how right she is. I have no clue where my roots come from. I have no idea who I am.

Training goes by pretty fast and I’m so glad it does. I can’t stand the awkward stares me and Jeremy have been given each other. It’s like he knows I’m into him or something.

ShyAnn walks with me out of the training building, just as we step outside I ran into something firm. I bounce back from the smack and look up to realize I just ran into the back of Jeremy Reed. The Alpha. My crush. SH*T!

“Alpha, I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to. I’m really sorry.”

“Lexi, right?” God his voice is like heaven.

“Yyeah, I’m Lexi.” I stutter out.

I look up at his face and see the smile taking over him. He has the most beautiful green eyes, his hair a dirty blonde. Ripped muscles head to toe. Stands about 6’2. He’s just so perfect!

“Just don’t let it happen again.” He winks and then walks away. Did he really just wink at me? The butterflies start swirling around my stomach again.

I just want him so bad. I hope that’s not a bad thing.

I’ll be able to find my mate soon though, seeing as my birthday is in a week. I ready for it!

Shy gives me that look and I already know what she’s thinking.

We walk back home in silence as the butterflies are still dancing around inside me.

I wave Shy goodbye as she walks the rest of the way to her house and I go the opposite direction towards mine.

Once I get inside I just run to my room and plop on my bed.

He is pretty cute you know.

Of course Ivy would think so. Being my wolf, she is also a part of me.

Isn’t he?! I swear I about dropped my heart when I ran into him. He’s just so perfect in everything!

I gained my wolf a while ago, which is really uncommon. I have also been able to shift, I do every once in awhile to let Ivy out.

I bet his wolf is just as perfect.

With her laugh, she disappears into the back of my mind.

I just laid in bed, thinking of the what-ifs. What if I am Jeremy’s mate? The way he looked at me was different than what any other guy has looked at me before.

Ugh f*ck it! I’m literally over f*cking thinking every god damn thing. I need to clear my mind of this guy before I go insane.

I headed out to my usual spot far in the forest to let Ivy run free. She helps calm me. Just when I made it to my spot, I let her take over.

She ran, and ran.

Finally she calmed down and laid down in the middle of a field. She gave me control again, and there I was. Laying naked in the middle of a field feeling f*cking sorry for myself.

I’m f*****g miserable.

Just then I heard some rustling in the wooded area nearby. I jumped up, my heart racing ready to attack anything that stepped out.
