Vanessa’s POV The water cascaded over my skin, washing away the remnants of the night as steam swirled around me like a comforting veil. I made no mention of our encounter as I turned off the shower, the silence between us heavy with unspoken words. Wrapping a towel around me, I stepped out of the shower, the cool air of the bathroom a stark contrast to the warmth of the water. I could feel his eyes on me, his gaze burning into my skin, but I refused to meet it, focusing instead on drying myself off quickly. Once dry, I didn't linger.
