Chapter 5It was nearly a week before Meredith gave in and checked her f*******: messages. A week of emotional highs and lows, and she wasn’t any closer to knowing how she was supposed to feel about what Jen had revealed. Things like this didn’t happen to people like her. Nobody pined away for her. She wasn’t beautiful. Okay, she wasn’t hideous, but she wasn’t doing much for herself lately. Her apartment was a disaster, and she couldn’t remember the last time she’d bothered doing anything with her hair, or even putting on makeup. There was no point. No one had shown any interest in her for a very long time. But to be honest, she hadn’t put herself out there for a long time, either.
