The Promise

The next day came, Sandile was the first one to arrive at the spot. He couldn't get over how beautiful Amila is, her voice so calm and pleasing to listen to. The agreed time passed without any sign of Amila and Sandile was worried that maybe she doesn't like him that's why she decided not to show up.
Right when Sandile was about to leave he looked back only to find the beautiful Amila approaching " Sorry I'm late" that's what she said and Sandile forgot that he stood for an hour waiting for her. All that mattered was her being in front of him. He confessed his love and to his surprise Amila loved him too. The love birds ensured to see each other every day during the holidays because Sandile was not staying in the rural.
Without knowing that she was seeing Sandile for the last time, Amila came to their spot with hopes that she will meet her lover the next day. He broke the news to her that he will be leaving for the city the following day to further his studies in Medicine. She broke down because that only meant she won't be seeing him for some time.
Emotions took over because Amila was crying uncontrollably. They hugged, kissed and unintentionally consummated their relationship. Afterward, they gazed at the sky and that's when Sandile made a promise:" You're the only woman for me, I promise I'll finish my studies and return for your hand in marriage" Silence took over for some seconds" I will wait for you". With broken but pleased hearts, they parted ways.
