Nightmare

CHAPTER 12

I can already feel the numbness of my legs from our excessive running. I wanted to stop running but I was thinking about what could possibly happen to us. The ground breaks apart as if there's an extreme earthquake.

I was out of breath and I felt like I was going to run out of breath.

"Raze ..." I called him but he continued to pull me. "I can't .. I'm tired .." I complained to him.

"Keep running Zayn." he said then continued to run.

But I seemed to faint from exhaustion when I unable to move my legs. I stopped running and took a deep breath but suddenly the ground I was standing on cracked and then I fell there. Fortunately, I was able to cling to the very top of the ground.

"s**t. Zayn hold me, don't let go." Raze said loudly as he held out his hand to me.

I tried to tighten my grip on Raze's hands but I don't know why I felt his hand was so slippery.

"Try to lift your body Zayn." he ordered me and I immediately obeyed it.

I tried to lift my body but I felt too heavy. It was as if someone was pulling me down and it was as if my body was so heavy.

"I can't Raze." I told him as I continued to struggle to get up but no matter what I do I really can't.

A few moments later I suddenly felt the heat in my body as if it was coming from the very bottom of the hole in the ground. Even with difficulty I was able to look down and was shocked to see a large fire that seemed to be pulling me down. It was as if I was being dragged to hell in the extreme heat.

"Raze there's a fire down there." I told him as he pulled me up.

"What?" he asked confused. "Come on Zayn get up." he commanded me again.

But as I continued to lift my body it was as if I was also being pulled down by fire. I can already feel the pain in my skin, I think it has been scorched by the extreme heat.

.I can feel Raze's force pulling me up but the harder he pulls me, the stronger this fire pulls me down which causes one of my hands to release Raze's hand.

"f**k!" I cursed in extreme annoyance. I cried with great annoyance because my legs were already scorched by the extreme heat.

"Zayn listen .." Raze said to me. It was obvious in his voice that he was having a hard time holding me. "I'll count up to three. When I count to three you lift your body at once. You have to lucid dream."

I seemed to wake up suddenly after he said that. Right, i can lucid dream. s**t, stupid. I took a deep breath then closed my eyes. This hole needs to be closed.

"One .." Raze began.

"Two .."

"Three, lift!" when he shouted that I used all my remaining strength to lift my body out of the hole in the ground at the same time as closing its split.

My sobs grew louder when I realized I was safe. I felt Raze suddenly hug me as we both sat on the ground. I tightened my grip on his arms as I continued to cry.

"It's okay, you're safe now." he said softly to me as he gently stroked my back to calm me down.

I became very emotional because I thought I was going to die. Hell no, I can't die. I have to wake up. I have to.

We were in that position when we heard footsteps not far from where we were. I felt Raze's sudden release from my embrace and looked around.

"I think someone's coming, we have to leave now." he whispered then stood up.

I wiped the tears from my cheeks before I stood up. But I was distracted when I felt pain in my legs.

"s**t arghh !!" I cried softly when I saw the large burn on the right side of my foot.

"Wait, can you walk?" Raze asked me which made me look at him. There was a hint of concern in his voice. I couldn't help but stare into his eyes. He's so damn sincere, but he's confusing me.

I averted my eyes and then forced myself to stand up properly. "Yes I can walk, I'm okay." I lied to him. It really hurts but I can walk.

He just nodded at me then continued walking. I followed him slowly because my burnt foot still hurts. I can still feel the pain I used to feel. I thought I was going to fall. I'm just thankful because Raze is there. He was like a knight and shining armor, he was always there.

I stopped walking when I felt Raze stop. My eyes widened as I looked straight in front of us. There are too many people coming. It was as if death were chasing us.

I stared at them but just like before, the part of their faces were blurred. I don't know if I was just too tired. I rubbed my eyes then looked at them again, but nothing changed. Still, vague.

I looked behind us but I didn't expect anyone to come either. I clenched my fist in extreme annoyance. We are already in their midst. I looked at each side of Raze and me, there were big buildings here. So we have no choice but to climb that building, just to hide. Stupid.

"We have to go up." I whispered to him while pointing to the building to my right.

I didn't wait for him to say anything and I started to run there but he suddenly grabbed my hand to stop me.

I just looked at him and he was looking seriously in front of us. I looked down at my hands he was holding when I felt his grip on me. This time, I already knew what he wanted to say.

I have to lucid dream.

I sighed then closed my eyes, I tried to control the situation. We need to get out of here.

Hopefully this time, this will work.

Moments later I felt silence all around. I opened my eyes and my eyes widened when I saw we were inside the elevator. I quickly turned to Raze.

Wondering.

Confused.

Lucid dreaming works now. But I don't understand why.

I don't understand why I can only have lucid dreams when he's with me.

When I hold his hand.

There are many questions in my mind. Why is it supposed to be him ? What is his connection to my dream ?

Who are you really Raze?
