Nightmare

CHAPTER 9

"Finally I found you." he said when we reached the tree where we could shelter.

After what happened earlier he suddenly pulled me here. I couldn’t understand myself because when our skins came together I felt electricity flow through my whole body.

"Do I know you?" I asked him directly. He's acting like he knew me that's why I can't understand him.

"No, but I know you. I was looking for you the whole night. And thank God you're safe." There was a hint of concern in his voice but I still couldn't understand. Who is he ? "I know you're confused, but don't ask now. We need to leave, we need to find ---"

"Wait wait." I stopped him so he couldn't continue what he was going to say. "How can I even trust you huh? How can I make sure that you're harmless?" I asked him.

"I saved you earlier." he replied while raising an eyebrow on me.

"What if you just did that to gain my trust? What if after that you will also kill me---"

"If I'm one of them, I won't waste my time gaining your trust if then I'll just kill you too. Look Zayn, we're running out of time we need to leave." he said.

"No. I still don't get it, okay? I have so many questions in my mind. I'm confused, literally confused. I don't understand even one. I was so clueless. Maybe you can explain to me first if you know anything what's going on here? " I asked.

I heard him let out a deep breath before he spoke again. "It's all just a dream Zayn." he said to my surprise. Curious, confused, questioning. I still don't understand. You have to wake up from this dream, and if not.. "

"And if not ?" I raised an eyebrow as I waited for what he would say next.

"We'll all going to hell."

I just stared at him, I couldn't believe what I heard. Everything he said almost didn't sink into my brain. It's just a dream. We were just in a dream. When I wake up, everyone who died here in my dream will live. But when the sun rises and I don't wake up, we will remain imprisoned in this hell.

That means, everyone's life depends on me. I have to wake up for them to be saved. I can't die. Never.

If so, my suspicion is correct. The answer I generated is correct. I already understand why they say it’s my fault. Because Nica is right, they are looking for someone. And that's me. I am what they are looking for. As Bree said, they are my weakness. they will confine me to my dream and I will suffer my weaknesses here.

They are my nightmare. They know my weaknesses. They know where I’m scared. I was afraid of being left behind. I was afraid of being betrayed. Everything that happens here, that's all my weaknesses.

Even though I already understand everything, I still can't grasp everything. The more I think, the more my head hurts. I looked at the man next to me. He was looking up at the sky as he watched the raindrops.

His features are so mysterious. I hope if he is the one I can be with this whole night, I hope he won't leave me. Hopefully unlike my old friends, he won't leave and will stay next to me. Whoever you are, I hope I'm still with you until I wake up.

"Who are you really ?" I couldn't help but ask him that. That makes me curious.

"Raze." he answered. He looked at me for a moment then looked up again.

"Have we seen each other before ?" I asked but he just shrugged. I'm confused, can't I really get a sensible answer from him? "You said you were looking for me, why? How did you know?" I asked again.

"What do you think?" he said then turned to face me.

Our eyes met again as my heart beat faster. What the heck Zayn, what are you doing? I don't know but there seems to be some hypnosis in his eyes that makes me stare. He's really familiar. Those eyes. I'm sure I've seen it before.

I averted my eyes when I realized he was also staring at me, stupid. I swallowed because I felt a little embarrassed.

"It's already 1:00 in the morning, we have no time. We have to leave." he said

" Where will we go ?" I asked him in surprise. It's still raining hard and we're leaving right away ?

"You have to find your body here in your dreams Zayn, where did you sleep?" he asked. In his voice alone he was obviously stuck and philosophical.

" At home." I gave a short answer and then he just nodded. It's rude.

We just waited a moment for the rain to subside before we started to leave. He walked to me first so I stared more at his body. I can say that his height and the color of his skin are just perfect and muscular. Especially his eyes, it's so delicious to look at. I don't know him but he is really familiar to me. Does he even exist in real life?

I stopped walking when he also stopped. I wondered looking in the direction he was looking at.

I was stunned to see someone coming. There are too many of them. I can not believe. I feel like everyone in Hell City is picking me up.

This is crazy.

"What are you standing there for? Aren't we leaving?" I asked Raze as he just stood there and looked at the people coming.

"No. Stay there and don't move." I was amazed by his authority to command me.

"What are you thinking huh? Don't tell me we're going to give up on those? Raze come on let's go." I teased him but he still didn't pay attention to me as if he was really waiting for the people to approach us.

I looked down when I felt him suddenly hold my hand. This time I felt mixed emotions, I was nervous about the people approaching us and at the same time I felt my chest beat faster because of the way he held my hand.

"What are you doing?" I asked him.

"Close your eyes." he commanded me again while looking directly at the people approaching us. s**t they're getting closer and closer.

"What? Why? What should I do?" I asked him confusedly.

"Just close your eyes Zayn." he said emphatically.

There was a hint of annoyance in his voice because of my meanness. I closed my eyes, I stressed the closeness of my eyes. I was so disgusted, I wanted to shout at him and asked him what he was thinking. He's so hard to read, damn it.

Why do i have to close my eyes? What will I do ? What will he do? Will he fight those people alone again like he did with Bree? Raze you so are annoying.

As time went on, I could already hear the footsteps of people approaching us. They are very close to us but we still do nothing. It's so annoying, what are we really doing huh?

I clenched my fist with too much pressure. I hope when I open my eyes, we are in somewhere else. I hope when I open my eyes, we are safe.

It's like that I'm going crazy because of what my mind is saying but I don't care. This man beside me is insane.

A few moments later I felt the extreme silence around. The footsteps I had heard before were gone.

I wondered as my eyes widened. I was surprised to look around where we were.

I looked around the area, we were no longer in the park.

What happened ?

I can't understand.

How did this happen?

Did my thoughts come true?
