Nightmare

CHAPTER 4

I chased my breath as I fell myself to sit behind the big tree. I just came out of the department store that Tyler and I went to earlier.

I started to cry again when I remembered what happened to Tyler. I cried in frustration when I can't even understand what am I doing with this shits. I had no idea what was going on in our place. I know for sure that here in Hell City, we were literally in hell.

I sobbed as I tweaked myself. There were a lot of questions in my mind that I can't even find an answer. It's annoying, it's frustrating to think that I have nothing against those people. No they were no longer humans, they were demons sent here from hell .

I was just sitting for a few minutes when suddenly I heard footsteps behind the tree where I was sitting. I covered my mouth to stop sobbing and not make some noise. I almost stopped my breathing just so they wouldn't hear me.

As time passed, their footsteps seemed to get closer and closer to where I was. I close my eyes in annoyance as I pray that they will not see me. In a few moments, those footsteps suddenly disappeared. It was as if a thorn had pulled at me knowing that they were no longer there behind me.

I let out a deep sigh before I slowly stood up and came out from the tree I was hiding but I was shocked when two huge men standing in front of me appeared as if they were just waiting for me to come out. Damn it !

It was as if there were ten horses chasing my heart because it was beating so fast. Here I am again, I can't think of any other way but to run but still be able to chased, stupid.

I was devastated when he suddenly smiled at me.

"Get her." the taller man ordered his companion, which he quickly obeyed.

Even before I could start to step back, he already grabbed my arm and pulled me closer to his companion. Surprisingly, they didn't even stab me like those people I met before them.

A man slowly approached me and then gave me a meaningful look. I don’t understand what people are up to now, it's so confusing. I noticed that he signaled the man who was holding me and then pulled me as if he wanted to break a bone in my arm.

"What the heck ! Let me go!" I shouted at them with a struggle and tried to get out of their hands, but they were really strong. "Can you just stab me huh?" I told them sarcastically but they still wouldn't listen to me.t

Since they didn't hurt me, I'll be the one to do it. When I found an opportunity to move, I bit the hand of the man holding my right arm.

"Aarghhhh !!!" I heard the scream of the man I bit as a reason for him to release me. When he released me, I also confronted the other man and then kicked his precious balls, which I knew he would regret.

"f**k you !!!" the second man cursed as he knelt down because of the pain he was feeling in his eggs.

"You deserve that! I'm so sick of your ugly faces." I said emphatically and then kicked him hard in his face. My eyes caught the first man, he was right to approach me but I was in a hurry to run.

I don’t know where my feet will take me, what I’m thinking now is I need to find a hiding place, for the mean time.

I stopped from running when I felt the pain of my stomach wound again. I bent my hands and knees in great breath. I looked around, my eyes caught sight of a restaurant. All the lights there are turned off so I did not hesitate and I quickly approached it.

I would have opened the door but it was locked, damn it! I looked around again, I had nowhere else to go. Large buildings surround this restaurant, and I'm sure I won't be able to enter there either.

I forced to open the restaurant door at the same time pushing it with my body. I slammed the door again and again but I wasn'treally able to open it. But I didn't stop and I continued pushing it until it suddenly opened.

I hurriedly run to enter inside but was shocked when a baseball bat was about hit me.

I quickly stepped back as I raised my hands. "No wait wait. I'm harmless." I said as a reason to stop that person from hitting me. Suddenly I felt her hands pulling mine to let me enter inside the restaurant.

When she locked the door again, she then turned on the light inside the restaurant.

"Zayn?" She called me when it finally light up inside.

I looked straight at her. "Bree?" I said when I met her, she's my best friend, with her cousin Nica standing behind her.

"Oh my god, it's you." there was a hint in her voice that she couldn't believe we would meet today, and in this such vague situation. She immediately approached me and then hugged me. "Are you okay? No, wait you're bleeding." She was referring to the wound in my stomach.

"I'm fine, thank you." I said so she wouldn't have to worry

"Why are you alone? Where's tita? Where are they?" she asked

I can't speak right away. When I remember what happened to mommy, I felt guilty. I killed her. "Mommy's gone, and i don't know what happened to Thea." I could feel the sympathy in their eyes after I said that.

"We're very sorry for what happened to Aunt, Zayn. We don't know what happened before, we just woke up because things were getting messy. Nica and I were the only ones who survived." she explained. "We were with Tyler earlier, but we separated ways ." she added.

"I was with Tyler earlier." I said and they both looked straight at me as if asking why I'm the only one here now.

"Where is he?" Nica asked me, I could feel the nervousness in her voice. I know they've always liked each other even before.

"Uhmm.. Ahh I'm sorry. He's--"

"No." Nica stopped me which was the reason why I couldn't continue what I was going to say. "Please don't say it Zayn, just .. dont say it. It's okay." she said forcing herself to smile at me.

"This is bullshit!" I heard Bree mutter as she peered in the doorway. "Look, I really have no idea what's going on around. It's confusing and annoying. We don't have something to fight against them, they're too strong."

"We don't know their motive why they're doing this. But I was just wondering why they're here. I know for sure they didn't come here just for a trip and to harass people." Nica said meaningfully.

"Who exactly are they? They look like they were being possessed, they're becoming brutal for no reason. You saw what happened earlier Nics, you saw how daddy stabbed my mommy and your mommy. His eyes became black and he looked like he was going crazy. "said Bree. While I was there standing next to her and listening to their conversation.

"They have their reasons Bree."

"And what's that stupid reason huh?"

"They're after someone."

I looked up at Nica when she said that, I don't know why but I feel like I'm intrigued. "What do you mean they're after someone?" I asked confusedly.

"They're looking for someone." she replied without even looking at me.

I frowned as I thought about what she was saying.

"Who?"
