Rain continued falling by the time I climbed out of the BMW. The heavier part of the storm had passed us now, and left behind that steady drizzle that settled into clothing and hair until you realized too late that you were wetter than you thought. Cold air rolled down from the mountains beyond White Wolf territory, carrying pine and damp earth through the village while soft yellow light spilled from windows scattered throughout the pack grounds.
