As I approached the wolf healer’s office, the sound of two voices caught my attention. I slowed my steps, and my enhanced hearing picked up Dr. Anderson’s familiar tone.
"Her recovery rate is exceeding what we initially projected," he said, his voice both cautious and optimistic. "Assuming there are no further complications, we may be able to move the surgery up by two weeks."
I didn’t intrude, instead lingering outside the office just long enough to hear a few more acknowledgments between the staff and the healer. Satisfied this was progress for Elder Katherine, I turned to the hallway leading back to her chambers. On the way, Nurse Thompson crossed paths with me, holding a tablet filled with data.
