The more Emma and Paul crawled through the corridor, the narrower and tighter it became. The light became dimmer, until the darkness swallowed it up completely.
Emma felt a wall in front of her. She touched it with her other hand and the concrete moved. She pushed again with some force and it gave way. A burst of blinding light assaulted their eyes. She heard the concrete fall and explode on impact on the floor below. She crawled out of the corridor, tested the drop before trying to jump, and realizing that she was only a few inches from the carpeted floor.
Paul followed her down, only he had a little more trouble getting out of the square on account of his rotund figure. Emma helped him squirm out and he landed on one foot not so gracefully, but held his other leg in the air as
