10 FLATLANDERS Otto Krantz stepped outside of his diner for a breath of fresh air, only to get a lungful of dust as the wind kicked up small clusters around him. He coughed feverishly, smacked his barrel chest a couple of times with the palm of his hand. He caught his breath after a few minutes, sighed, and turned to look at his diner.
