Chapter 16
A month later, Travis and Winston were driving back from raiding town businesses when they saw motion off the side of the road.
“Did you see that?” Travis slowed and turned the car around. He only got a glance, but he was curious.
“Yeah, not sure what it was. Likely some type of critter.”
They were curious and got out to investigate. Each held a hand close to his hidden gun.
“Do you suppose it was a human?”
“Can’t say. Come on, let’s go.” Winston was hungry and wanted to eat and show off what they scored at the stores. He gave thought to visiting Coos Bay, the bigger town to the north by thirty miles. The car would likely run out of electric miles, but they had the back-up gas engine.
