Grandpa showed up in the old garage after a bit. “Hey, what’s going on with you and Travis? He came in crying and went to his room.”
Winston thought how to handle it. “We had a bit of an argument.”
“Just a bit? I haven’t seen him so upset in a long time.”
Winston didn’t want to tell Grandpa why he spanked Travis. “We just had an argument.”
Grandpa moved close, too close for comfort for Winston. “You’re lying to me.” He scrubbed his face with his hand. “But you two are adults. I can’t force you to tell me, but I wish I could.”

Grandpa blinked. “What? Why? Must have been pretty bad.”
