Chapter SixHOTEL VICTOIRE WAS A FIVE STAR HOTEL that enjoyed an excellent reputation and attracted a wealthy clientele. However, some of its guests took pleasure in testing the concierges with ridiculous requests, simply for amusement. Monsieur Breckman’s need for a relic of St. Teresa appeared to be one of those requests. Acacia wasn’t in the mood to devote her time and attention to indulging him, especially since he’d threatened her. Instead, she spent most of her day assisting guests with genuine needs. During her breaks, she hid in the staff room, poring over Marcel’s journal. To her frustration, she found nothing out of the ordinary.
