James PoV
“Hello, James. Where are you?” Sawyer says as soon as I answer the phone.
“I am on the road. I will be at your place at noon, as you asked… Or rather, as you ordered me.”
When I left Harper last night, I promised her to be back at sunrise, but Sawyer heard and told me not to come before noon. They all had a long night and needed to rest, according to her.
When I questioned her reasoning, she mentioned that my parents would, anyway, be suspicious if I came at sunrise for lunch.
I proposed coming at 10 am but she also rebutted my proposal and pushed it to noon… She argued that they have to cook and decorate for brunch and Harper would not have time for me anyway.
Sawyer is a staunch negotiator! So, after half an hour of back and forth, I just had to let it go!
