The man to whom I spoke turns his head to Xavier and furrows his brow as though he were reprimanding his child. “Is she a mortal? Do you have a human spouse?”
Xavier gets up next to me and gives me a nod. “She is human, indeed.”
It is a crazy commotion. Numerous people begin to whisper that they could sense it.
Yeah, right. I roll my eyes at them.
Hypocrites. The silence falls as the man raps on the desk.
“Xavier and his… Luna. See you after the meeting.” The man says, and then he returns to discussing the state of packs worldwide.
This time, I make every effort to remain awake, and I can do so in part.
Xavier would put his hand on my leg whenever I was on the verge of closing my eyes to keep me awake.
