The Curse

THIRD POV

Anastasia immediately stopped her steps, after hearing those words from Klaus. Anastasia turned around, and looked at the three men who were still standing where they were before. Klaus, Kristofer, and also Kane, looked at Anastasia with very serious expressions on their faces. Anastasia was sure that by the expressions on the three men's faces, there wasn't the slightest hint of a lie there. “What do you mean by cursed? The three of you... were also cursed by a witch?” Anastasia muttered, while walking back closer to Klaus, Kristofer, and Kane there. Anastasia was even frowning deeply now. In her heart, Anastasia herself was actually also quite doubtful about what the three men had just said. So was Orlo who again followed Anastasia's steps, right behind her.

“That's right, Ana. The three of us are also equally cursed. But not by a witch, the three of us got the curse from a wizard.” Kristofer answered.

“The three of us did receive a curse from a witch. But before I explain further, can we sit together again?” Klaus said in a tone of voice that was slow, and also full of requests there.

Anastasia let out her breath slowly. “Alright, let's sit down again now.” She said, as she walked back towards the sofa she was sitting on earlier. Then Orlo followed Anastasia again, but this time, he sat down quite far from Anastasia. Seeing Anastasia who had sat down again on the sofa earlier, Klaus, Kristofer, and also Kane followed and sat in their respective places now.

“So?” Anastasia asked again with increasing seriousness. Anastasia looked at the three men who were looking back at her there.

“Actually, we got the curse when our parents decided to get married, and accepted their mate relationship. The witch cursed our parents, that the successor of the southern pack would be born abnormal, and would have difficulty getting a mate. Even if we did get a mate, we would have to sacrifice many things.” Klaus said.

“What's wrong with your mom and dad's relationship? If they are a mate pair, what's wrong with it exactly?” Anastasia asked directly. There was a small crease on Anastasia's forehead now.

“Our father is an Alpha candidate who comes from the southern pack, while our mother, she comes from the northern pack. There is an unwritten agreement between the two packs, which states that members of the southern pack cannot have mates who are members of the northern pack. And vice versa. They finally decided to get married, even though it was strongly rejected by both families.” Klaus paused his words, and slightly glanced at his two brothers. Kristofer and Kane nodded their heads vaguely. Then Klaus looked back at Anastasia who was still waiting there.

“But what can it be, the marriage that had already taken place, was rejected by the witch, who without waiting for anything, immediately cursed our parents.” Klaus continued while sighing loudly.

“Then, what happened to you when your mother finally conceived?”

“That...” Kane muttered, and at that moment was immediately clapped on his right hand by Kristofer, so Kane immediately stopped his words there. Kane even looked down quite deeply, as if, what he had just done was the wrong thing at the moment.

Seeing that, immediately made Anastasia even more curious. However, she could not directly ask the three of them about it. Given, that they had just met and started to get to know each other. Anastasia was indeed very protective of the privacy in her life, so she herself did not want to get too involved in other people's privacy. Not to mention, about the privacy of the lives of Klaus, Kristofer, and Kane. Anastasia does not want to interfere too much at this time.

“Then what do you three want from me now?” Anastasia asked again. “You three already know that I am cursed to be unable to have a mate. If I accept you three as my mates, it means that I have sacrificed the lives of innocent people in my pack. I can't just make my clan disappear, just because I accepted the three of you as my mates. Besides, the curse that I got a long time ago, there is never a cure. Because the witch is gone. My parents accidentally killed the witch, before putting the curse on me.”

“We understand that very well, Anastasia. Therefore, allow us to introduce you to our parents. In addition, the three of us will seek advice from the elders in our pack. Who knows, those elders could give us some advice. Also, maybe in the future, the three of us will come here more often. At the very least, we should work together to find a way to make the curse we received disappear completely. Don't you want to have a mate and live a normal life together with your mate, Anastasia?” Kristofer said excitedly.

“Luna... but those three...” Orlo muttered, and looked on warily.

“Orlo, not now.” Anatasia gave Orlo a sharp look, while shaking her head in a slow motion. That instantly made Orlo sit back down quietly, though his heart and mind remained suspicious of the three men.

“In that case, I'll ask Omega to prepare a room and dinner for you three. Tonight, you can stay here. Before you return to the south pack, and make every effort the three of you have, to resolve this situation now.” Anatasia muttered under her breath and rose from her seat. Orlo, Klaus, Kristofer, and Kane also stood up now.

“Good evening. Come on Orlo.” Anastasia continued as she invited Orlo to follow her.

Klaus, Kristofer, and Kane could only sigh slowly, while looking at the backs of Anastasia and Orlo who were starting to look away now. Meanwhile, Anastasia accelerated her footsteps into her room on the second floor of the pack, followed by Orlo who entered Anastasia's room, then closed the door.

“Luna, can't you think about this one more time? What if those three men were just deceiving you by saying that the three of them were cursed by a witch? What if it was all a trick by the three of them to stay in this pack, to trick you? What if the three of them are actually your enemies?” Orlo immediately asked Anastasia many questions in a slightly whispered voice.

Even though Anastasia's room was soundproof, Orlo was always wary, especially with Klaus, Kristofer, and Kane in the pack now. Orlo didn't like the mysterious aura of the three of them from earlier. However, Orlo didn't dare to say that directly, in case Anastasia got upset later.

“I know, Orlo. I also understand the worry you're feeling. I'm also worried about all the possibilities that will happen in the future.” Anastasia muttered, then sighed loudly. This was all too difficult and too sudden for Anastasia. But what could she do, to make things safe enough, and not make others feel suspicious.

“It's just that, I really smell their body scent as my mates. I know and can feel that the three of them are indeed my mates. But I can't reject them as my mates right away, without my parents being here. Besides, I also have to find out who they really are. If they deceive me, then I will immediately punish them.”
