Chapter 60Evelyn's appointed attorney finally arrived and met with his client. He was what was known as an old Island boy. Evelyn was a haole mainlander having allegedly done her crimes in The Islands. Sara held out little hope that Evelyn would get any sympathy, even from her own attorney. She was booked into jail. Pity the person who would have to share a cell with her stench.
Sara and Huxley were not allowed further contact with Evelyn. They returned to their hotel with the full manila envelope minus two of the photos. One was of Emma and Evelyn close up which showed Emma's perfect teeth. The other was one of the engagement photos that clearly showed that the girl with the crooked tooth was not the girl who wore the ruby studs and who was engaged to Rocky.
