Fosco and Pietro

The words said by the soldier kept on going around Fosco’s head. He knew what they meant and if the threat would become real, he had to protect Clara and Nicola.
-I must warn Pietro. The circle of the suspects is getting bigger, Carlo first, then the boy, now it was my turn. Who is going to be the next one? Pietro must be ready for this. If something was to happen to me, he’ll have to make sure that Clara and Nicola would be safe away from trouble. My God, I could never forgive myself.
