Chapter LXXI Agnese On the day of Luciano"s death, Agnese was still in bed, unsure whether to get up or stay a little bit longer. She had spent the night stirred by strange visions. She saw a large red threatening cloud on the horizon, a curtain of thick red smoke, or perhaps an approaching sandstorm approaching quickly and which covered everything as she passed by. She was alone, in the middle of a field and she couldn"t find shelter. She wanted to escape but her heavy legs, like marble, kept her stuck to the ground. She wanted to scream and despite all her efforts no sound was coming out. -I"m dreaming, I"m dreaming- she thought – I’ll wake up now - but her eyelids remained closed and her heart pounded with a desperate effort to open them.
