For a moment, I was too stunned to speak. I had never realized a person could be this shameless.
Jade nestled deeper into Marcus's arms, lazily tracing circles against his chest with her fingertips. "If you're really that desperate to get married, I can introduce you to the best matchmaking agency in the city. I'll even pay for the VIP package myself."
She tilted her head, smiling sweetly. "But stop harassing my husband. In love, the person who isn't loved is the outsider. Honestly, watching you cling to him like this is embarrassing."
Every word painted me as the pathetic intruder. Marcus stroked her hair gently before turning his cold gaze on me.
"Why don't you get the hell out of here?" he snapped. "Every car in this showroom costs millions. If you throw one of your tantrums and damage something, you'd never be able to pay for it."
Then he looked at the sales manager. "Call security and get this lunatic out of here. God knows what she'll do next."
Somehow, he always found a way to make himself look innocent. The crowd immediately joined in.
"Throw her out already!"
"What if she hurts somebody?"
"We're not dealing with some crazy woman here."
The sales manager hurriedly called security over. Two guards grabbed me by the arms.
I fought back instinctively, but in the struggle my hair got caught in the car door. Pain ripped through my scalp.
I cried out, but the guards only tightened their grip and dragged harder. Then someone shoved me from behind.
I crashed onto the marble floor with a sickening impact. A sharp c***k shot through my arm, followed by blinding pain that nearly blacked out my vision.
Jade gasped theatrically and covered her mouth. "I was only trying to pull you away so you wouldn't get hurt," she said softly. "Everyone here saw it."
As she spoke, she quietly ground her heel against my fingers. "And don't even think about trying to scam us."
Warm blood trickled down my forehead, blurring my vision red. For a split second, I caught hesitation in Marcus's eyes. Then it disappeared. Only cold indifference remained.
My heart went numb. Trusting a man was no different from gambling your life away.
Shaking, I reached for my phone with my good hand. Before I could make the call, Marcus snatched it away and slammed it onto the floor. The screen shattered instantly beneath his shoe.
"Still putting on a performance?" he said coldly. "People like you don't deserve to waste emergency resources. Not everyone has time to indulge your insanity."
Blood continued running down the side of my face, staining the showroom floor beneath me.
"Help me..." I whispered hoarsely. "Please... take me to the hospital..."
No one moved. Marcus looked down at me without expression. Jade stood beside him with a faint smile curling her lips. The crowd avoided my eyes entirely.
I gritted my teeth and forced myself to crawl toward the exit. Every movement sent agony tearing through my dislocated shoulder.
Then Jade suddenly kicked me hard in the ribs. Pain exploded through my chest. She crouched beside me and lowered her voice.
"Before you leave, you'll need to sign a statement saying you fell by accident and nobody was responsible."
I could barely breathe. My vision faded in and out as darkness crept closer.
Then suddenly the showroom doors slammed open.
"Miss Lindstrom, we've confirmed evidence of Marcus's affair. The Rolls-Royce Phantom gifted to you by your father was illegally transferred to a third party…"
Secretary Edward Lewis stopped mid-sentence. His voice changed instantly. "Miss!"
Footsteps thundered across the showroom. "What the hell happened to you?"
