Adrian
Her struggles turn weak, her nails that were digging into my arms go ineffective, and her lightweight body leans on me more as she loses her consciousness from the little dose of a drug that I had injected in her. Her still-wet hair blows lightly from the cold wind, her ocean-blue eyes flutter closed from the sedate. Her body goes motionless against mine, not moving an inch to struggle. I remove the hand that had muffled her screams and cries for help, her pink full lips stained with my blood from the bite on my palm. Her pretty face gleamed in the light from outside the window, her complexion going pale from the drug.
" Sleep tight, princess "
Because you will never wake up again.
The unsaid words remain on the tip of my tongue, my eyes scanning her gullible face.
A sigh leaves my lips, my heart still pounding in my chest because of the effort I had to put to subdue her a moment ago, my uneven breath calming again.
I could have just abducted her when she had been in my club, while she was relaxed when she had let her guards down, could have taken her away from the world she ever knew while she was on my grounds, but I didn't.
I couldn't.
I still remember the way I had looked at her across the dance floor, while she had innocently sipped her drink, glancing at her surroundings. I still feel the tingling emotion that had bloomed in my heart when I had looked at her for the first time, the recollection still fresh in my memory. The sense of admiration that had blossomed in my eyes, while I had taken her naive frame in, still surprised me.
Then, my family came into my mind.
The way her brother and father had planned and killed my whole family, the ones that I had admired with all my heart, brings back all the hate for her clan, raising at its peak. The next very moment, I had come back to my senses, remembered who she was, and which family she had belonged to, the admiration that had bloomed for her in my heart had shattered in a millisecond and was replaced by hate and loath.
She may not be the one who had killed my happiness but she belongs to that fucker's family, and I had made an oath to kill every soul he had ever admired. All of the ones whom he had ever loved.
And my first target is her.
In this game of achieving my motive.
Norah Jane Williams, the innocent lamb.
The naive mafia princess had become my target.
It's been two weeks since I had lost everything, and I had burned down several of Williams's strip clubs, a few ports, and harbors controlled by them and crashed many numbers of their shipping activities, to calm my anger. Yet I didn't feel satisfied, nothing had put me at ease, not a f*****g single thing. Burning down his properties and business may have given me momentary pleasure but it didn't give me a single inch of satisfaction. The demon lurking in my soul still asks for destruction, asks for the blood of his enemies.
Soon.
The girl, here, in my arms, will be the first one to feed the demon in my soul.
I pick her up on my shoulders, her arms and wet hair slinging down my back, her abdomen pressed to shoulder, her short legs slinging down my front.
" All clear? ", I ask in my earpiece, my voice whispering as Jeremy, the cyberpunk answers me. He has been watching the perimeter while I had entered the mansion from the back door.
" Yes, boss. "
I walk to the door, her head barely bumping into my back as I walk. I quietly open the door, walking down the stairs, then to the living room as I quietly make my way to the main door.
I could have sent any one of my men to bring her to me but abducting a rival's daughter, from his own house, from his grounds, while he slept peacefully just yards away not only thrilled me but also would impact the prestige of the enemy.
Despite being aware of the security cameras installed around the mansion, I chose to walk down to the entrance door myself, in the perimeters of the cameras, while the princess of the family swayed on my shoulders, which was important to convey my message.
That I was going to destroy him on his own grounds.
It pleased me to know that he would wake up worried about her, and the reason for his worry would be me.
Nothing else mattered to me more than watching the Williams fall apart.
And abducting the baby of the family would bring them to their knees.
Taking the life away from her magnificent ocean-blue eyes would shatter him.
