Chapter Twelve Griffin Griffin managed to get back to Aghadoon atop his horse after giving Hector instructions to go after Egan with the journal that would let him report back. As soon as he’s reached the village, he slid from the saddle and crashed into the stones below. He watched his blood fill the cracks between stones, remembering Shauna stitching up a similar wound from another lifetime. But Shauna wasn’t there this time. He’d managed to crawl toward the library, but his blasted horse left him. The door had been so close, but he hadn’t made it before two sets of arms dragged him across the road into a nearby shop that smelled of yeast.
