Tobi’s POV
I sighed, sinking into my chair and dragging a hand through my hair. One less thing on the list. Firing Prudence had been a bold move—maybe even a reckless one—but I wasn’t going to let her get away with hurting Lila. Still, I wasn’t sure how Lila would take it. I’d done it without asking her, on her behalf. If we weren’t leaving this place in less than a fortnight, I never would’ve made that call. But all I wanted now was to make her final days here as peaceful as possible. Safe. Untouched.
A knock at the door interrupted my thoughts.
“Come in,” I called, straightening the paperwork on my desk and shoving the escape map into the drawer.
