Chapter 7: The Lie

I was blinking at Harriet as he was smiling charmingly at me as if he was having a relationship with me right now. Which he told his brother just now and I was feeling the anger inside me right now. I smiled forcefully at him before I was looking at his older brother and his bride. “Oh, I am so happy to know that you have decided that you are going to get married, after all, that’s wonderful news!” The bride said before she was hugging me. She was smelling of honey. I loved it. It felt warm. “Oh, I have a sister now. What’s your name? Where are my manners?! I am Lena. Nice to meet you and you are?” The bride said as her eyes were shining with happiness right now. And I don’t want to be bad by diminishing the light in her eyes. “Jenny,” I said as I was smiling at her before she beamed at me. “Oh, how wonderful! You will be with us not for too long now,” Lena said before she turned to look at Harriet that was talking with his brother, which I have no idea what it was about. “Now, when is the wedding?” she asked Harriet before I was trying to say something about this matter but Harriet beat me to it. “In the upcoming month, I hope. I cannot wait to have Jenny as my bride you know. But she refused to give us a try and I have been waiting for her to say yes, finally,” Harriet lied through his teeth before his brother was patting his back. “Dear God, I am happy for you, brother. May you be blessed with happiness,” he said before Harriet was putting his hand on my waist again and pulled closer. I was looking at the bride and groom before I was smiling at them. “It was nice to meet you two. I see you guys around,” I said before I was Harriet to the side. It’s time for a time out. I was dragging him off from the busy ballroom and out into the garden. I did not that at first but right now, we were on the balcony as I was turning to look at Harriet. I think the steam was coming out of my ears and my face was red. “What do you think you’re doing?! This is not what we’re agreed to!” I hissed at Harriet before he was looking around. “Shh! Keep your voice down,” he warned me before I was scoffing at him. I was crossing my hands at him before I was narrowing my eyes at him. “So, you’re telling me that you are lying to your family? What is this all about? I thought it was for a wedding reception but apparently, I lost the script here. So you better tell me, Caprioli, or else,” I said as I was stepping closer to him as Harriet was arching his eyebrow at me. “Or else what, Jenny? I am dying to know what you were going to do to me,” he said as he stepped closer to me. I was trying to be intimidating but he was not having it when Harriet was trapping me between his arms as my back was hitting the rail of the balcony. “You know, I have been dying to meet you when we’ve collided at the airport. I did not know that the Fate was being generous to me when it brought me to be with you again now,” Harriet whispered huskily that shivered me up and down. I was looking into his electric blue eyes before I was gulping. I wanted him and I hated the fact that I was attracted to him. There was something about him that I wanted to get to know and possess. Maybe steal it and keep it with me forever. “I…I…” I said as I was looking at our faces that inches closer to each other. Our hot breaths mingled before I was gripping the rail. “Harriet…” I said huskily as I was looking at his delectable lips before I was turning my gaze into his eyes again. Harriet was staring at me. “Yes?” “We can’t,” I whispered to his lips as he was dipping his head toward me. “And why is that, Jenny? Tell me why I cannot kiss you and we cannot have a relationship with each other?” He asked before I was smelling his mint breath. I think I can live with this all night and forever “Jenny, do you want to kiss me?” He asked me as I was looking into his eyes. It was hooded before I was gulping. Then, I nodded at him. He smirked before I was biting my bottom lips. I was looking into his eyes before he cursed under his breath. “Don’t look at me when you don’t want me to kiss you,” he said as he was looking into my eyes. I don’t know who made the first move but I was going for it. Might as well taste what Harriet Hermes Caprioli feels like under my lips. I was gripping his shoulders before pulling him closer to me and claimed his mouth. He was taken back for a while before he was snaking his hands around my waist and at the back of my head to put me in place. I was gripping his shoulders even tighter before I was moaning into his mouth. Harriet groaned before he was licking my lower lips. I gasped before he was putting his tongue inside me. I was kissing him with fervent before he was breaking it. “We need to stop or we might have created a scene that we both don’t want others to watch,” Harriet said before I was looking into his electric orbs. I licked my lips and tasted mint. His eyes were hooded again. “Why you little—“ “Ah, there you are, brother! Come on, we have to take the family picture together now. I don’t think Zeus has been anxious like this since forever. I think he might be wanting to get this over with right now,” Ryes said before I heard Harriet sighed. He turned to look at his brother before smiling. “Of course, we will be there,” Harriet said before I was looking at Ryes who was smirking at me before Harriet was stepping in front of me. Ryes chuckled before I was looking at the ground. “Please hurry up before Zeus explode. And he did, I will be blaming you, brother,” Ryes said as I was looking at Harriet’s broad shoulders before he was sighing. Harriet turned to look at me before he smiled weakly. “Let’s go. I think we can continue what we started later on when we’re completely alone,” he whispered before my eyes were dilating toward him. He chuckled at me before I was trying to control my blush. He put his hand on my lower back and we were inside the ballroom again. I was looking at the bride and the groom that were smiling at each other before I sighed inwardly. If only I can have that as well. I wanted it and I know I can get it. My thought ran wild as I was looking at Harriet. Could it be that the director of the National Museum of Sicily was the answer that I have been searching for my whole life? And the cure to my kleptomaniac that was getting out of hand right now?
