Chapter 14: The Meeting

1250 Words
When I was 12 years old, I was running in the street as I was looking around me. I was not being missed or being caught by the authority yet when I was smiling. I looked at the gemstone that I caught for myself for the first time. “It was not that bad. I think I can do this when I grow up,” I said as I was looking at the rare looking gemstone. It was an emerald or something since it was green. I think I might get some money from this. “Good catch. Tomorrow, I will be here again,” I said as I was looking at the time square before I saw there was a gang that was bullying a nerd looking, young boy. I think he was 2-3 years older than me. “Hey, check it out. It was the Caprioli nerd. What are you doing here, loser? Trying to flash your money at us, huh? But guess what, your parents are dead so no one will come for you now,” the big boy that was the gang leader was bitting the s**t out of the young boy. One thing that pissed me off was that they think they are better than others. “Hey losers!” I called after the gang as the leader was smiling at the young boy before I was stepping up. The leader was frowning at me as I know who he was. He was the leading gang that runs the street kids. But I worked alone and I preferred that way. “What do you want, puny? Get out of here before I crush you like a bug you are,” he said as I was smirking at him. I held out my catch of the day before I was twirling it in my fingers. They were instantly hooked as I was smiling at them. “Oh really? Then, I guess you don’t want this then? I was lucky to get this today but I think I might throw it away because it was not that interesting to me,” I said as I was hooking the leader with the emerald. He was gulping and I can see that money was flashing in his eyes. “Don’t throw it. Just give it to us. We will make use of it,” the leader said before I was arching my eyebrow as I was looking at the nerd boy that was on the floor. This guy was older than me but he was puny. I sighed. I guess I have to save him then. “Sure but I wanted to exchange it with that boy on the ground,” I said as I was looking at the boy. His blond hair was dirtied by the ground as well as his electric blue eyes that were looking at me warily. I rolled my eyes at him before the leader was nodding at me. “Sure, take him. Just give us the gemstone then,” he said before I smiled. “Okay, catch then,” I said as I was throwing like a champion. The emerald was rolling down the street before the gang was out of the abandoned aisle. I was hurrying toward the young boy before I was helping him up. “Come on, we have to go before they realized that it was a fake,” I whispered to him as we were walking out of the aisle. This young boy was bruised badly and I think I have to treat him. “Come on, we crash to my place before I send you home. I think your guardian will not appreciate it if you were bruised like this,” I said as we were walking toward my home. It was nothing much but I think I live comfortably. “Here, drink this,” I said to the young boy as I was giving him some of the water that I collected aka stole from the vendor. What can I say? He was not that observant. “Thank you,” the young boy said as I was smiling at him while I was applying some cream to his bruises. He hissed at me but I was staring at him and he was quiet. We don’t say much before I thought it was time to go. I don’t think that I wanted him to go, there was something that was alluring about this young boy and I was hooked. My kleptomaniac made me that way. “What’s your name?” I asked as I was helping him to walk home. If I did not know any better, he was well off from the clothes that were torn because of the bully and his gang. “Hermes,” “Hermes? Well, that’s a very odd name,” I said as I was leaning him against the building that was not far from the abandoned building that I called it my home. “Well, my parents liked Ancient Greece so they thought it would be cool for their sons to have those names,” he said as I was chuckling at his statement. “I see. Your parents were very nice people then,” I said before Hermes was looking at me with a blank stare. “Sorry for your loss but if it makes you any better, I am an orphan too,” I said as I was looking at him. He blinked at me before I chuckled. “I know it was hard to believe but just know this, you will have more freedom but don’t use it too much. You have to know your limit,” I said before Hermes was arching his eyebrow. “Did you know yours?” He asked me before I was stepping closer to him and then I did something that I have been wanting to steal from him. His first kiss. “Maybe but I will not belong to stick around. Who knows what future holds for us,” I said before I was disappearing through the shadows that I always did when I did have successful thieving. And this time, it was this young boy’s first kiss. As well as mine. *~*~*~*~* I blinked at Harriet before he was smirking at me. I cannot believe it! So the young boy that I was kissing and took his first kiss. But how did he got my information from when I was 12 years old. I was 23 years old now. I wondered how he got it. “You thought you were the only one that can steal?” Harriet said as he was coming closer to me after I was signing the marriage license that we acquired after I was hearing the stories. I was happy to know that this man was that puny young boy that I saved. But he was not puny anymore. “You took my kiss and I took your hair. I think that was only fair for ourgive and take, don’t you think?” Harriet asked me as I was smiling at him. He was a charmer and I cannot help but fall in love with this magnetic charmer and also my boss. “Well, it seems that it was only fitting that now you have my virtue, I will have your freedom forever,” I said as I was smiling against his lips. Harriet was smirking at me and I was smiling seductively. The heaviness of the engagement ring and the wedding band that Harriet slipped after the signing was a reminder that I was now Mrs. Harriet Hermes Caprioli. I think I liked that. “Now, why don’t we reminiscing the memory of last night and maybe create something out of it?” Harriet asked me as we were walking toward his car. Well, you don’t have to ask me twice.
