Ava hides when the police drive past her house for the third time in a row, “What the hell are you doing?” Her twin sister asks looking awfully confused about the bride to be looking out the window.
Ava turns her attention to Maya before she speaks, “I don’t want to marry that man. I am not in love with him and I know he’s bad and kills people, mother is only doing this for her debts, but I will not allow her to use me like that. I’m not marrying Christopher Michaels. I’ll die trying to get out of it.”
Maya opens the front door for Ava, “Well? Are you going to use the door or you plan to use the window?” Ava quickly stands up and closes the front door with a look that confuses Maya. She’s acting paranoid, as far as her sister is concerned Christopher was supposed to marry her as the first born of the two, but he met Ava first and had his socks charmed off.
Ava spends all night looking out the window with an anxious look in her eyes. The only reason Christopher wants her or her sister is for their power. She didn’t know the man that stumbled into her apartment at deaths door three years ago when she was still in college is the one she’s destined to marry.
He came around 3AM to her apartment building and they met on the elevator when she was explaining what her power actually is to her roommate. She’s very lucky is one way to put it.
Christopher Michaels is the son of the crazy rich billionaire Michael Michaels and until Christopher met her his father always favoured his last-born son out of all 6 of his children and that infuriated Christopher.
He’s done a lot for his father’s approval his father only ever took him serious for once in his life after he said he’ll marry Ava as a joke, but the moment he mentioned marriage his father started paying attention to him. He’s not allowed to force Ava to marry him she has to actually fall for him, but Ava doesn’t even want to see his face since their last encounter.
Maya wakes up in the morning and she’s actually happy Ava is missing while her mother is going crazy, “Find her!” Maya’s mother commands, sitting on the couch with a cigarette caught between her lips taking deep breaths, “That selfish girl has no idea how much trouble she’s got herself in.”
Ava runs the moment she gets off the bus and runs into a tall black-haired male that looks like he’s in the same situation as her, running. Police surround them and Ava stands up looking ready to run and the male takes her hand and now she’s a hostage, “Try anything and she won’t make it home tonight.” The male smirks and Ava’s eyes widen when Christopher is standing behind his brother.
She elbows the male pressing her body against his which is honestly useless considering the top of Ava’s head barely grazes his chin. She turns around and kicks him in the core but she’s the one that cries out making the black-haired male chuckle.
Christopher’s eyes widen, the black-haired male takes Ava with him when he disappears, “Chris? Are you alright?” He turns his attention to his brother still processing what just happened, “Chris?” His brother quickly asks everyone to back away from Chris with a dumbfounded expression on his face trying to figure out if he imagined that being Ava or he’s just seeing things.
He turns around laughing settling on that just being a joke and calling her phone, his heart stops when her phone rings on the very spot Dean tripped into her. His chest starts heaving up and down subtly, “I can find her Chris, you know how that asshole is. She’ll be back at home like none of this ever happened. That’s how it works with him.”
Christopher’s blue flames engulf his phone and he throws it away watching it explode, “He won’t, anyone else yes, but not Ava. I’ll find my fiancé myself thanks for the offer.” Chris walks away, his brother called him to ask for help with capturing Dean the plan was perfect until he ran into Ava.
“Why didn’t you tell us to shoot him down? We had an opening.” A rookie officer yells at Christopher’s brother, Christian, “There was no need for him to get away, how come a criminal like him hasn’t been added to death row and instead of capturing him we just put ourselves out of his misery.”
Christian narrows his eyes, “Because of the hostages power, you can’t predict what will go wrong where she’s concerned. Either way Dean was going to get away. Everyone clear out and find her.”

Ava wakes up in the morning in a room she doesn’t even recognises. She opens the window and jumps out from three stories. Dean smiles when Chris catches her, she doesn't look like the type to be so reckless. Ava turns around and punches Chris confusing Dean, “Stay away from me.” She turns around and Chris takes her hand, “Let go.” She tugs at her arm and Chris lets go Ava hitting herself in the face.
“We’re leaving.” Chris says side glaring at Dean smirking down at them from the roof of the building.
Ava shakes her head at Chris, “I will never forgive you Chris, and I will not marry you. Murderer!”
Chris turns his head slowly directing his cold and icy glare at Ava taking a step away from her. He’s surprised she’s still upset about him killing her brother. What he doesn’t understand is why she blames herself instead of him, he did it fully aware of what he was doing.
“Ava I don’t want to repeat myself you better be behind me.” Chris lets go and walks towards his car and Ava walks in the opposite direction. Dean laughs standing in front of Ava confusing her.
“Wow, you talk to thee Christopher Michaels like that? You must be some kind of rich girl too, let me guess,” Dean chuckles thinking of any rich family with features similar to Ava’s, “That’s odd, you look nothing like the rich brats I know.”
Ava walks around Dean and he follows behind her very confused, “Go away!” Ava’s eyes lose their colour and she swipes her hand at Dean who grabs it and pins her against the wall slowly leaning in and smirking.
“Sorry sweety, but no one gets on Christopher Michaels naughty list if I knew you’re his girl I would’ve gotten caught over taking you.” Ava kicks him and Dean laughs again when she’s the one more hurt than he is, “You’re important to Christopher, and that means by his side is where you should be. Do you have any idea how many people want that man’s blood on their hands?”
“I know there are many and my brother paid the price for my naivety, actually thinking Chris would leave it all behind to be me with me, but all I got out of loving that bastard is losing everything and everyone I love. I’ll take my chances with the scum of the earth roaming the streets, not a Michaels.” Ava narrows her eyes at Dean, “I said go away.”
Dean turns around and Chris’s usual serious look is replaced by a guilty look on his face. He feels a tight clenching and uncomfortable feeling in his chest watching Ava walk away. He’s never felt so many emotions at the same time, but the one foreign feeling washing over his body is the feeling he forgot years ago.
Fear.
