Ava walks into the house and her mother smiles glad she came to her senses and talked to Michael. She walks past her mother straight to her room to find Maya turning it into a closet. She shakes her head leaving the house.
She walks to the one place she goes when she’s upset. She’s surprised to find Dean with a black eye muttering profanities under his breath. She takes a seat next to him. If he’s the second option she’d at least like to know what he’s like.
Dean is caught off guard by Ava taking a seat next to him and lying down. The stars are always bright around here and she appreciates the calm and comfort she feels. Dean does the same and sighs.
“This is where you promised me your soul. I don’t know how else to remind you but I won’t stop until I keep my promise. You kept yours even if you don’t remember what it is. I will keep mine.”
Ava turns in his direction and smiles. Him being here too makes more sense and she’s curious to remember what he promised. He cups her cheek and sits up wondering how she’s still alive. He sinks his teeth into the crook of her neck.
Ava feels a light jolt run up her spine. Dean stops before he kills her but considering she cannot die turns her into the perfect treat for him.
“Dean.” Ava taps on his hand and he stops. He licks the bit of blood still seeping out of the two punctured holes and smiles.
“You called me by my first name, I never told you that.” Ava realises he’s right and clears her throat. He stands up offers his hand to Ava. “There’s somewhere fun I think you’d like to go. It will make sense when it’s just the two of us.”
Ava takes his hand holding onto Dean flying to the mall of all places. He goes to the underground strip club like they did back then sneaking in and taking a seat to watch strippers, this was Dean’s idea Ava didn’t know this place existed.
Dean smiles ordering drinks and offers Ava one, “I definitely need one.” Ava says taking a shot and then some. They leave drunk and Dean takes Ava shopping while she complains about Maya always hiding behind her.
“So, she’s the one with the cash and the job but keeps convincing your mom to make you marry my brother for her debts when she can pay?”
“Yes! I don’t want to marry that asshole. I’d rather hang than marry him.”
Ava shows Dean her dress and he shakes his head again annoying Ava adding it to the list of dresses she wants. Dean laughs, “When did you guys meet according to your own memory?”
“College, it was around 5AM and I was going coming back from my morning jog when I saw a body lying on the ground a few feet away. Any other day I would’ve assumed it’s another hobo sleeping on the streets but I’ve never seen a hobo wearing a Bane watch before.”
Ava approached Chris and kick him around a few times until he woke up. She jumped away from him and gulped recognising him instantly. “You.” Chris stares at Ava confused looking her up and down.
“Me?” Ava questioned with a confused look on her face. He smells like a liquor factory so he might be a little confused. Chris throws up and nearly fell into his own pool of vomit if it wasn’t for Ava catching him before he did.
She drags him to her place and drops him on the floor turning the forcet for him to take a bath first. Chris groans on the floor feeling drowsy and hungover. He partied 36 hours non-stop and now he’s getting what he deserves.
“Can you get up, I don’t have the strength to carry you and I have morning class today.” Ava kicks him again and he stands up dragging himself to the bathroom staring at the tub. It’s 3 times smaller than his.
“What the hell is this? Where’s the rest of the tub? Why did you cut it in half?” Ava slaps him with a wash cloth and throws soap and body wash at him. Chris glares at her for the hostility and takes his shirt off when Ava mutters a whole speech about his ungratefulness.
He takes a long bath getting out when he feels a lot better. Ava showered in her bathroom and makes breakfast for the two of them. The door opens and Avalon walks into the room coming back from work. He looks Chris up and down and glares at Ava.
“This better not be what it looks like.” Avalon looks between Ava and Chris who pulls Ava into his chest pecking her cheek.
“I’m Christopher Michaels, you must be the future in law I’ve heard so much about. You’re right babe he is always angry.”
Ava snorts, “It’s not what it looks like, how was work today?”
Avalon sighs grabbing Chris’s plate and finishing the rest of his food before answering Ava’s question with a middle finger in her face for even bothering to ask. He hates his job and finds it insulting they’d ask in the first place.
“What does he do again babe?” Chris asks hugging Ava closer to his chest. She smacks his hand and he pecks her cheek smirking. Avalon leaves Ava to explain what his job is. Chris nods along not sure what a body guard as skinny as her brother is guarding.
“What does he guard?” Chris asks biting his tongue to keep the rest of his question to himself. Ava shrugs her shoulders.
“Don’t know, he comes home every morning and that’s all I care about. Could you let go of me now.” Chris hugs her tighter breathing in her scent. He shakes his head and his fangs graze her neck, “Ow!” Ava elbows Chris surprise by how hard his chest is she’s sure she broke the tendons in her elbow.
Chris takes a step back and looks confused looking Ava up and down. He looks her in the eyes and compels her to forget him before leaving. He goes home and his dad isn’t back again. it’s been 2 weeks and he left his mother at home while he does Lord knows what.
“Morning mom, I got you something to eat. I know you love these.” Chris pecks her cheek taking a seat next to her. She smiles and he smiles too.
“Christopher do I need to call your father and have him come back? You know better than to act so recklessly and out of control especially in front of the media it’s absolutely unacceptable.” She scolds her son and he nods in agreeance.
“Like dad cares, what the hell kind of man leaves his wife for a whole 2 weeks and comes back when he feels like it. Dad is the real asshole in this scenario. We should bring Dean back and send him away it’s not like we’ll know the difference anyway.”
“Christopher!” She scolds glaring at him and he glares back.
“Come on mom, you’re above making excuses for that bastard. He’s a d**k, you deserve better. You really do.”
“That’s besides the point. Go to your room and for once stay there. It’s bad enough I have to do this on my own, do you have to punish me for your fathers faults? I can’t control him nor can I keep him on a leash so keep yourself on one for my sake.”
She lightly knocks Chris on the top of his head leaving the kitchen to lie in bed. She takes a deep sigh feeling exhausted but she just woke up. “Michael you insensitive bastard. One of these days you’ll come back and I’ll be gone.”
