Dean sneezes and accidentally takes Ava home, “Oh, I’m sorry. I’ve been meaning to explain why I’m back here. Stop trying to send me back.” Dean coughs and raises a finger at his brother to give him a moment he still wants to say something, “I think there’s something wrong with me.”
He drops to the floor unconscious surprising Chris for a moment, “You don’t say.” Chris mutters walking towards his brother taking him home. Dean has been clean for years now in fact he doesn’t drink blood anymore, but his father still refuses him to come home, but Dean being the rebel he is occasionally came home to see his family behind his fathers back.
Ava grits her teeth when she’s back in her room. She had the perfect plan to run away and never come back, “What the hell are you doing?” Ava’s mom yells when she opens the door to Ava’s room and she’s jumping out the window again, “Mr Michaels is on his way. He has arrangements for the wedding to run by you.”
Ava narrows her eyes and jumps out the window landing on the ground going back to her plan run away, “Miss Smalls, I’m glad you’re ready.” She turns her head and her face drops when Chris’s father is already waiting by the car.
“I don’t want to marry your son. I don’t want any of you people anywhere close to him. I never want to see another Michaels again. Leave-me-alone! All of you just stay the hell away from me.”
Mr Michaels is caught of guard by Ava’s outburst but slowly nods his head in understanding. Lowkey disappointed his son is giving the family name such a bad reputation. He gets back in the car and drives back to his house to find Dean unconscious and his mother on the bed beside him worried.
“What is he doing back here?” Mr Michaels asks handing over his jacket to the young maid that works for them. Chris gulps when his father gives him the ‘you f****d up’ glare. Mr Michaels turns his attention to Dean caught in a memory that he can never forget.
He sits up and his eyes widen as he stands up, “Dean, you’re suddenly alright. Go back.” Dean turns to his father and walks past him leaving. He knocks on Ava’s front door surprising Ava’s mother. No one has heard of Dean or seen him, but they do know the Michaels have 6 children and the second born son is known to be wild and crazy from what his siblings have said about him.
“Who are you? what do you want?” Ava’s mother looks behind Dean and raises a brow when her eyes land on the Porsche parked outside, “Let me guess. Ava.” She rolls her eyes stepping out of the way gesturing to Ava’s door.
Dean slowly walks towards the door very nervous. He didn’t get a good look at Ava, but he’s sure he didn’t mistake the resemblance between her and the girl he met years ago. He hasn’t forgotten about her since. He got confirmation at the door that her name is Ava.
Ava opens her door when a light knock breaks her concentration. She has a deadline to meet in a few hours. She looks up at Dean with a confused look on her face, “What do you want?”
Dean stares at Ava from top to bottom and smiles, “If I asked you to spend the next 24 hours of your life with me as yourself and we have fun, would you come with me?” Ava lazily looks up at him and smiles taking his hand.
Dean smiles taking her hand to his car and drives to the first place he and Ava went too back then, “Hey Ava, who’s he?” The waitress at Ava’s favourite restaurant asks Ava gesturing at Dean who smiles.
“He’s bad news that’s all I need to know.”
Ava takes a seat across from Dean and orders something new on the menu. While Dean orders the spiciest dish on the menu, “What do you say we checkout the cemetery after this?” Dean asks and Ava laughs.
“Okay, now you have my attention. Who are you? no one would ever think to go the graveyard from here.”
Dean smiles, “You’ll remember me soon enough.” He takes out his phone and shows Ava a picture of the two of them at the underground warehouse in the cemetery that people forgot about, “I used to throw parties there and you’d skip school and show up, of course we never talked I was too busy draining the life out of people to notice you.”
Ava crosses her arms, “Really, a vampire.” She rolls her eyes turning away to leave. Dean is caught of guard by her reaction. That’s where he told her his true identity and she thought it was cool back then, clearly it was a smart move on his part to relive that day to see how much Ava has changed.
“Wait. I just want to have fun with you not upset you.”
“You did. Thanks for the meal.” Ava asks for take out and leaves Dean absolutely surprised when she walks away. He crosses his arms and takes a deep breath before relaxing and standing up giving Ava her space maybe it’s too soon, or she’s just different.
“That’s not it, she said yes in a heartbeat. That’s a sign and I know she’s still the same. She’ll remember once mother brings her memories back.” He goes home to talk to his mother but stops by his father’s office first.
“Dad it’s not like that. Dean is the one who told her. When we met, she instinctively knew. At first, she and I dated because I wanted to find out how she’s still alive but still in our death records. I know I was an asshole and I can acknowledge that, but I do want to fix things with Ava. I’ve fallen in love with her. I don’t know how to fix it.”
Dean opens the door and glares at his brother, “You’re in love with you?”
