Night settled over Ravenspire, but it was not peaceful. The forest hummed with energy, the tether vibrating faintly through every living thing. Moonlight and stardust braided through the pack, but Rovan knew that this calm was only temporary. Aric stood near the edge of the ridge, his starfire glowing faintly beneath his fur. “I felt it,” he said, voice tight. “Something… moving out there. Beyond the fissures.” Kaerin’s eyes scanned the horizon, alert. “A signal?” she asked, already guessing. Rovan’s silver veins pulsed in response. “Not just a signal. A message. From them.” The Pulse The moon dimmed slightly, not from eclipse, but from an unnatural pulse that radiated from the farthest edge of the forest. The stars above flickered in unison. It was a rhythm. Deliberate. Calculated.
